Role: Billing Specialist

Work Arrangement: Fully remote, overlapping EST working hours

Job Type: Independent Contractor, Full-time

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST, with flexibility for urgent billing-related tasks.

Locations: Remote, open to candidates in the Philippines

Role Overview:

The Billing Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes for our clients' ABA practices. This role is essential in maintaining client satisfaction, compliance with payer regulations, and ensuring revenue is collected efficiently.

Core Responsibilities:

Billing Management:

    • Process and submit claims to insurance companies accurately and timely.
    • Monitor, track, and resolve denied or unpaid claims by coordinating with payers.
    • Conduct regular audits of billing records to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Revenue Cycle Optimization:

    • Identify and implement improvements to streamline billing and collections workflows.
    • Generate reports on billing activity, collections, and outstanding accounts.

Insurance Verification & Pre-Authorization:

    • Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility before service delivery.
    • Obtain pre-authorizations as required for services rendered.

Client Communication:

    • Serve as the primary contact for billing inquiries from clients and patients.
    • Communicate with clients regarding outstanding balances and payment plans.

Compliance & Documentation:

    • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain accurate and well-organized billing records in line with company standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of billing experience, preferably in healthcare or ABA therapy.
  • Strong understanding of insurance billing processes, including CPT codes and payer-specific requirements.
  • Familiarity with billing software and tools like CentralReach or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
