Job description

We are searching for an experienced Principal Product Designer who has a passion for creating products and services that create value for our clients, and a solid understanding of designing for both responsive web, native mobile apps as well as other product interfaces for recognisable brands, preferably in a high-traffic environments.

You are as passionate about creativity as you are about human centred design and human outcomes. You will work across every stage of the product lifecycle, and all stages of the product design process, from strategy to build, to drive better outcomes for our clients, their employees and their customers.

You will help develop and grow our design team, ensuring we have the capabilities to meet our clients where they are going, not where they are today. You will approach the work you do and the way you work with intelligence, imagination, drive and humility.

Key skills and experience

· A product development or experience design or consultancy background.

· A strategic mindset and vision-driven approach where you consistently break down complex ideas into tangible design direction, aligned to product strategy and delivery.

· A consultative mindset, able to spot opportunities to become an advisor to our clients, able to support them in driving change in their organisation, beyond the project you’re working on.

· Consistent track record of balancing a design lead role with getting your hands dirty in the work where needed.

· A strong systems thinker who understands how the pieces connect, continuously experimenting and improving human and business outcomes.

· A hybrid designer with an outstanding portfolio showcasing a foundation in design research, user experience, interaction and visual design, and particular strengths in one or two of these areas.

· A combination of experience in designing for mobile native and web applications, as well as other product interfaces.

· An understanding of technical platforms and how to get things built.

· A growth mindset, curious and eager to explore diverse ideas and learning, and seeking new opportunities and challenges.

· A strong communicator both visually and verbally.

What you will be doing

· Shape visions. Work with design, insights & data, product management, and engineering to explore new strategic areas for our clients, make sense of ambiguous challenges and turn this into impactful experience.

· Win and deliver award winning work. You will challenge our thinking, lead creative on pitches and create artefacts to help us credentialize our capabilities.

· Drive quality. Take a lead role on projects, setting the product design direction, running multi-disciplinary critiques and owning our creative reputation.

· Tackle high-impact problems. Partner with engineering and product management to ensure a high-quality implementation that meets both user, business and technology stakeholder needs.

· Confidently create design systems for clients, or just as easily work with and evolve existing design systems.

· Be a coach and design leader to our clients and our design teams; planning and leading collaborative sessions with cross-functional product teams, playing an advisory role to clients.

Our methodology:

· Discover, imagine, create and deliver products and services that make things better for our clients, their customers, their employees and the world.

· Bring together insight, creativity and technology to deliver experiences that transform our clients’ businesses.

· Outcome driven, embody objectivity and people-centricity in everything we do.

· Continuous discovery, delivery and learning through a collaborative, iterative design process.

· Champion experimentation, conceptual thinking and creative expression in design.

· Thought leadership in experience, design, branding and design systems through contributing to conferences and industry panels.
