Finance Analyst - Location Mexico

This role is within the Finance function with an aim to provide best in class level service.

Purpose

Proactively assist the back-office business area (Finance, Accounting, Legal and IT) in identifying and improving efficiencies to help strengthen operating expense processes and develop reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis that gives real transparency of results.

Key Responsibilities

• Be a key business liaison to a range of non-financial and operational staff within the back-office of the company
• Collaborate with department heads to gather input and insights for budget preparation and forecasting and develop and maintain models and templates for accurate financial projections
• Monitor budget performance and identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement
• Providing monthly draft and final financial operating expense data to various departments
• Assist Accounting with follow-up comments, analysis, investigations, and invoice support regarding monthly financial operating expenses from the departments’ reviews
• Analyse year-to-date operating expenses to ensure correct coding, identify any missing expenses, and review data to support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Review current month operating expenses vs budget, forecast, and prior year operating expenses to develop variance comments for board deck slides
• Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested from the departments

Skills and Experience Required:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in budgeting and forecasting and analytics
• Strong communication skills are key. Being able to display and explain financial results to areas of the back-office business and their impacts.
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field or an MBA
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Knowledge of SUN (Saphire) accounting software or similar
