LACE Agile Coach

Purpose of Role: The role of LACE Agile Coach will guide the organisation through its Lean-Agile journey, ensuring alignment with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and the company’s strategic goals. This includes championing the adoption of agile practices across the business by coaching teams and individuals in SAFe  and working with them to move to a model of continuous value delivery.  In common with other LACE team roles, they will be a passionate advocate for Lean-Agile principles and a catalyst for change, driving the organisation towards operational excellence and customer-centric innovation. The LACE capability will provide the resources and frameworks for teams adopting these new ways of working, and the LACE Agile Coach will be a prominent figure in the development and sharing of these.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Lean-Agile Transformation: Guiding the organization through its Agile journey, ensuring alignment with SAFe and the company’s strategic goals.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Providing hands-on coaching to Agile teams, Release Train Engineers (RTEs), Scrum Masters, and Product Owners to enhance their understanding of SAFe principles and practices.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver training to various levels of the organization, including executives, managers, and team members.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead the charge in identifying areas for process improvement and increased efficiency within the operating model.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of Lean-Agile practices and report progress to senior leadership.
  • Change Leadership: Act as a change agent, encouraging a culture of innovation, risk-taking, and relentless improvement.
  • Collaboration: Develop and maintain strong and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and sponsors.
  • Other responsibilities may be required as the team and scope evolve

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
 

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Project Management, Business/Administration, Information Technology, Information Systems, Technical, MBA, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant certifications such as SAFe Agilist (SA), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), etc. preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Agile coach with an understanding of SAFe and experience working within an agile operating model in a global company.
  • Direct experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), including implementing and managing SAFe at various levels.
  • Extensive experience in training, coaching and mentoring teams and individuals in Agile practices.
  • Proficiency in Agile tools and technologies, such as Jira, ADO, Planview, etc.
