Profile Summary:
The Senior Experience Designer is responsible for designing and building world class websites, desktop, and mobile applications as we continue our journey to become America’s retirement company. This position will work with our UX design team and our business partners to implement strategies and interactions that will improve the performance, usability, and effectiveness of our customer-facing interfaces.

Profile Description:

  • Work with business partners to implement strategies and interactions that will improve the performance, usability, and effectives of our customer-facing interfaces.

  • Lead initiatives with other user experience services designers, researchers, and/or external vendors to constantly refine our process, methods, and best-practices.

  • Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and detailed design specifications that describe the user experience to stakeholders and direct development activities from inception to implementation.

  • Follow user-centered design principles to produce high-quality designs that cater to today’s users and their expectations.

  • Understand and contribute to business objectives and user research to help set direction for digital properties.

  • Effectively use research and business feedback to iteratively refine, and evolve design solutions.

  • Understand different form factors (smartphone, tablet, desktop) and how to appropriately design using both responsive and fluid design principles.

  • Ensure everything we produce is in line with our brand standards and get the necessary approvals for extending our design patterns.

  • Understand how and when to recommend the use of prototyping and usability testing to build confidence around concept building.

  • Ensure the correct leveraging of our brand and digital design assets as well as contributing to for new concepts.

  • Understand the needs of our users and business partners to help deploy a strategic vision that will enable Voya to grow.

  • Balance multiple work streams and requests and apply design skills to deliver world class experiences to our users.

  • Be an advocate for the end user and an ambassador for the Voya brand.


Knowledge & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience as a UX designer for consumer facing applications or websites demonstrating expertise in digital projects.

  • Bachelor-s degree in interaction design, industrial design, human factors, graphic design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing a consistently high level of attention to detail on multiple efforts.

  • High levels of experience working with agile methods and teams

  • Usability accreditation with facilitation and reporting skill sets preferred.

  • Health Plan or Benefits Administration experience is preferred

  • Figma – Wireframe, design specifications, and simple prototypes

  • Adobe Creative Suite – Design mockups and comps

  • Jira

  • Confluence

  • Microsoft Office – Executive presentations

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya may offer incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

$75,000-$85,000
