About this role: 

As the Managing Vice President, (MVP) you will lead a team of experts within Gartner’s growing Emerging Technology and Trends Practice as an MVP for Artificial Intelligence. The AI team will be dedicated to discovering the bleeding edge of AI innovation and advising C-Level strategy and innovation leaders at providers and adopters. You will guide this team to envision, execute, and deliver valuable and must-have research to engage clients and expand Gartner’s Research and Advisory business.

This MVP will have cutting edge expertise in: 

  • AI techniques & foundations: Generative AI, Computer Vision, Language Models, Edge AI, AI Ops, Simulation. 

  • Tech Market and Adopter dynamics and familiarity with trends beyond technology. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Directly oversee a team of 7-10 Analysts who investigate, analyze, write, present, and advise on critical Artificial Intelligence innovations and issues facing senior executives in global technology and service provider organizations and industry adopters.

  • Continuously reviewing coverage to determine and direct resources to the areas of greatest need, as determined by client interest and Gartner strategic priorities.

  • Guide and elevate the creation of innovative, thought-provoking, and highly leveraged written research offering compelling, objective, and actionable advice for Gartner clients.

  • Coach and develop individual ability to excel with Gartner’s Emerging Tech research methodologies, including case-based, big data analysis of Patent, Govt & VC investments, Academic research and more.

  • Provide sales and business development support, serving as a leading voice of Artificial Intelligence insight.

  • Coach your team’s ability to define strong positions, backed up by empirical research developing actionable insight.

  • Co-develop and own ETT content and topic research methodologies, multi-modal deliverable architectures.

  • Ensure and surpass execution of ETT’s mission critical priorities: Uncover the bleeding edge of innovation, provide actionable advice for industry innovators and fast-followers, increase client impact.

What you’ll need: 

  • 15+ years of relevant work experience.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 

  • Experience managing, developing, and growing a high-performing team, preferably in a global, large enterprise organization. 

  • Technology Acumen: Deep understanding of Emerging Artificial Technologies markets, adopters and technologies.

  • Understanding of trends, challenges and opportunities facing the world’s most innovative high tech executive leaders in product and service provider companies.

  • Business and Financial Acumen: Expertise in the business of AI products and services, company finances, and investor motivation.

  • Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical, and presentation skills.

  • Executive presence with the ability to engage C-level provider and end-user clients and respond effectively to questions to quickly build rapport.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural global team.

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and lead a team to produce high-quality deliverables.

  • Preferred: Expertise in Research & Advisory methodologies, ETT Research Acumen: Critical thinking, Content Methodologies such as Impact Radars, Hype Cycle, Maverick, Tapestry, Futures Lab.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 200,000 USD - 261,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
