The Service Quality Organization (SQO) is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer 2 to support operational decision-making, strategic planning, and business performance analysis. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced analytics and a suite of business intelligence tools to systematically analyze data associated with claims and adjudication processes. Candidate will be responsible for identifying trends and patterns within the data that can inform strategic decision-making to reduce waste. Candidate will focus on detecting systemic irregularities or outliers in the data that may indicate potential errors and/or inefficiencies.

• Ensures full and clear documentation of all projects, processes and scripts
• Consults with department to understand business needs and translate needs to technology and analytic solutions
• Designs, develops and delivers user specification into automated database solutions using SQL, SAS, or equivalent coding language
• Ensures quality, functionality, reliability and usability using the best technology to meet the business needs

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of data analysis experience
• 1+ years of experience in SQL, SAS, or equivalent coding language
• 1+ years of experience with one or more of the Microsoft Power Platforms (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate)
• Expertise in assessing complex data sets and performing root cause analysis
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

• In-depth experience in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivots, charts, graphs, etc.
• SAS Enterprise Guide experience
• Azure Synapse Analytics platform
• Python experience
• Snowflake experience
• Ability to use data to drive business outcomes and decisions

Additional Information

• To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications, per associate.
  • Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL connection is suggested.
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if they provide an optimal connection for associates. The use of these methods must be approved by leadership.  (See Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL Connection in Exceptions, Section 7.0 in this policy.)
  • Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota.  Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

 

$66,800 - $91,100 per year

 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
