Role: Paralegal (US Experience)

Salary: Competitive Basic Salary

Benefits: HMO plus 2 free Dependents, P1,500 Rice Allowance, Night Differential.

Shift schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Philippine Time

Job Summary:

The Paralegal will provide comprehensive legal support to attorneys in federal and circuit court matters, bankruptcy cases, real estate transactions, and corporate filings. This role involves legal document preparation, case management, client communication, and administrative tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the firm.

Duties and Responsibilities:



Legal Support & Case Management

  • Docket all Electronic Case Filings (ECFs) and Circuit Court Orders.
  • Draft and prepare proposed orders for federal and circuit courts.
  • Prepare simple motions, including but not limited to Motions for Extension, Motions to Vacate, Notices of Deposition, Interrogatories, and Requests to Produce.
  • Finalize, edit, and file all pleadings, appearances, and forms in federal and circuit courts.
  • Assist in document production, including preparing catalogs of documents, Dropbox links for client submissions, and responses to citations and subpoenas.
  • Conduct research on Recorder of Deeds websites for recorded documents.

Client & Attorney Liaison

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between attorneys and clients, providing case updates, gathering necessary documentation, and communicating requests.
  • Answer and direct phone calls at the firm.
  • Send clients copies of important orders and pleadings.
  • Follow up with clients regarding outstanding payments on legal bills.

Bankruptcy Case Support

  • Input creditor and client information into Best Case for bankruptcy filings.
  • Upload required client documents to assigned portals for Chapter 7 or 11 Trustees before the First Meeting of Creditors.

Real Estate & Corporate Transactions

  • Assist with real estate closings, including preparing closing documents, obtaining water bills, completing My-Dec forms, and clearing title.
  • Prepare and file Annual Reports with the Illinois Secretary of State.
  • Draft and record Quit Claim Deeds, Mechanics Liens, Releases of Liens, and Releases of Mortgages with the Recorder of Deeds.

Financial & Administrative Duties

  • Input attorney time entries into PCLaw and generate legal billing statements.
  • Prepare billing breakdowns upon client request.
  • Input monthly credit card expenses and bank statement data into PCLaw.
  • Prepare and upload 401(k) plan payments to Newport Group.
  • Assist in preparing required IRS annual forms for Cash Balance and 401(k) plans.

  • Proficiency in legal research and document preparation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Experience with legal billing software (e.g., PCLaw) is preferred.
