Writing Lab Manager

The Writing Lab Manager is a pivotal representative of the Learning Services department, responsible for managing and leading Writing Lab staff and services. This role liaises with various internal and external entities, encompassing academic management and leadership committees, advisory boards, accreditation and licensing organizations, and professional associations related to Writing Lab operations. The Writing Lab Manager is a writing expert who advocates for quality, developmentally appropriate writing skill instruction and recognizes written communication as critical to learning outcomes for students across programs and credential levels. This role effectively navigates the rapidly changing landscape of writing instruction and embraces emerging technologies to advance teaching and learning.

The Writing Lab Manager reports to the Associate Director of Learning Services, who reports to the Director of Library & Learning Services. The Writing Manager manages writing support services in multiple modalities and supervises professional and part-time Work Study staff within the center. The Writing Lab Manager formally supervises and manages others. Supervisory experience is required.
