Job Description

The Accounting Consultant I responsible for executing the day to day activities of the team they are assigned to within the department. These employees are expected to manage their assignments based on prioritization and direction and raise issues as appropriate. When compared to the Entry-Level Accountant, the Intermediate Accounting Consultant I is developing professional expertise, has a wider scope of responsibilities, with more complex tasks, and more independent responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinates monthly close and related processing, as well as the development and preparation of analyses (e.g. account analysis, preparation of journal entries)
Makes judgements and recommendation, initiates and participates in process improvement projects as appropriate
Prepares analytical schedules, analyzes variances, and provides analytical support based on business goals, Accounting concepts, individual review and internal customer requests
Applies knowledge of Accounting professional and regulatory standards by preparing quarterly/annual statutory and/or GAAP financial statements and schedules/exhibits
Prepares and analyzes account reconciliations for complex accounting processes
Works collaboratively within the team and across the department
Implements, communicates and identifies additional data needed to understand the impact of business- and accounting-related initiatives on assigned processes and financial statements

Education

4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)

Experience

2 or more years of experience (Preferred)
