Job description

For People is a team of skilled technologists improving government digital services for disadvantaged and vulnerable populations. We embed directly in government agencies to modernize software, systems, and platforms so that they better serve people.

Your Impact

As a Salesforce Experience Designer supporting a critical Medicaid program at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), you will design a Salesforce approvals workflow that facilitates the secure review, approval, and display of Medicaid-related data on dashboards and reports. Your work will create intuitive, efficient, and user-centered Salesforce workflows, automation, and processes that enhance the overall experience for end users.

With your deep understanding of Salesforce capabilities, a human-centered design mindset, and experience collaborating with stakeholders, you will streamline complex business needs into seamless Salesforce experiences. Your work will enable government analysts and decision-makers to efficiently review and approve data for reporting, ultimately supporting Medicaid policy decisions and enhancing healthcare outcomes for millions of Americans.

Our Culture

For People is a team of humans. We place a significant amount of emphasis on positive work-life balance, setting healthy expectations, and making sure our loved ones are taken care of first. That means picking a child up from school during the day or going for a mid-day walk is okay!

Our entire team is remote across the United States, from the West Coast to the East Coast. There will never be a return-to-office, as we have none! However, it should be noted that this position may require occasional paid travel once or twice a year to the Balitmore area for planning sessions.

This is a 9-month contract opportunity for an independent contractor with a pay range of $70–$95 per hour, depending on experience and expertise.

Your Opportunities
  • Design and optimize Salesforce workflows, page layouts, and automation to improve user experience and efficiency
  • Apply service design methodologies to enhance the end-to-end experience of Salesforce users
  • Leverage declarative Salesforce tools (e.g., Flow, Process Builder, Lightning App Builder, etc) to create scalable solutions
  • Configure Salesforce objects, fields, record types, page layouts, and permissions based on user needs
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand needs, pain points, and opportunities for system improvement
  • Advocate for best practices in usability, accessibility, and adoption within Salesforce
You Bring
  • A humble and caring attitude aligning with For People’s values – how we work with passion, fun, curiosity, sustainability, humility, and respect
  • 4+ years of experience in Salesforce experience design, business analysis, service design, or related fields
  • Experience with service design, process mapping, and user research techniques
  • Proficiency in gathering requirements, defining user stories, and translating them into system improvements
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce declarative capabilities, including Flows, Validation Rules, and Permissions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

As we work on United States Federal Government programs and systems, it is the government's requirement that you must be a United States citizen and be able to pass a public trust background check. All work must be performed within the United States.

For People is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. We welcome all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, or veteran status.
