Summary: The Patient Engagement Representative is responsible for supporting patient-facing administrative tasks from a remote setting. This position focuses on delivering service excellence while assisting with scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and other support functions critical to patient care coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Main responsibilities will be outbound calling patients to introduce them to our practice to schedule a new patient visit, follow up, or annual wellness visit.
Answer incoming calls using approved company scripts and telephone etiquette.
Follow up and return all calls before the end of the workday.
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
Verify patients' insurance eligibility through digital systems.
Request network referrals as ordered by primary care providers.
Upload scanned documents such as registration forms, insurance cards, and identification cards to the EHR.
Sort and digitally distribute faxes as needed.
Prepare transportation lists for the next day based on scheduled appointments.
Review and act on daily recall lists.
Contact and reschedule patients who did not attend their appointments.
Assist in HEDIS process tracking and documentation.
Participate in Patient Satisfaction Survey Programs.
Communicate co-pay information to billing and ensure proper documentation of payments.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
Experience using EHR and scheduling systems.
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
