Job Summary

Nao Medical is seeking a skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to conduct psychiatric evaluations, utilizing suitable tools for comprehensive information gathering. You will apply evidence-based practices for accurate diagnoses, create personalized treatment plans, prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, and monitor patient progress. Adhering to telemedicine guidelines, you will prioritize patient privacy, advocate for mental health needs, and engage in ongoing professional development.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • You will perform thorough remote psychiatric evaluations and assessments, employing suitable tools to gather comprehensive information.

  • You will apply evidence-based practices to ensure accurate diagnoses and develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each individual.

  • Prescribe and oversee psychotropic medications, monitor their effectiveness, and provide patient education.

  • Monitor patient progress, make necessary adjustments to treatment plans, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to contribute to effective care.

  • Adhere to telemedicine guidelines, you will conduct remote consultations, prioritizing patient privacy and maintaining effective communication.

  • Advocating for patients' mental health needs, providing psychoeducation, and actively engaging in ongoing professional development will be integral to your role.


Requirements:

  • Reliable wired internet connection with a speed of at least 100 Mbps.

  • Computer/laptop with a minimum of Intel Core i3 processor or equivalent. Having a dual screen for increased productivity is a plus.

  • Operating system: Windows 10 or macOS (latest version) with regular updates.

  • RAM: Minimum 4 GB, preferably 8 GB or more for smoother multitasking.

  • Hard drive: At least 128 GB of free storage space for software and data.

  • Functioning webcam and microphone for clear communication.

  • Updated antivirus software to ensure data security and protection against cyber threats. Having a VPN is preferred but not required.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctor’s Degree in Nursing Practice specializing in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing and National Board Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through ANCC or AANP.

  • Current registration and certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in New York State with strong understanding of HIPAA compliance.

  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Infection Control.

  • Must obtain FMCSA certification within the first three months of employment. This certification is crucial for conducting CDL exams, a key part of the services we provide.

  • Suboxone Certification and federal DEA license.

  • Valid Medication Administration Training (MAT) Certificate.

  • Strong understanding of HIPAA Compliance.

  • Residency in psychiatry and mental health and at least 1 year of experience working as an NP and using EMR systems.

  • Strong candidates will work well with an interdisciplinary team of clinicians and allied health professionals and carry out the mission of Nao Medical through clarity, thoughtfulness, and respect for all.
