Vice President, AI Platform

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead Danaher's platform strategy and implementation for machine learning / AI, with the goal of building a system that enables training, evaluation, and deployment of machine learning models, consistently across all operating companies.
• Lead Danaher's data storage and access strategy and implementation for AI, with the goal of making internal and external data sharable and fit for purpose for AI – with the appropriate governance and access controls. Important data modalities include but are not limited to imaging data, clinical data, service logs, telemetry data, data from knowledge management systems such as knowledge graphs and other semantic networks, and external data from drug databases, clinical trials, publications, etc.
• Lead the design and oversee the implementation of a shared codebase across Danaher operating companies, including well thought-through and scalable access controls, and best practices for code review and approval.
• Drive the successful and compliant adoption of AI-facilitated software development tools, including coding co-pilots.
• Align with multiple stakeholders spanning from technical users and business owners, and across operating companies, groups, and the corporate level, on the right requirements for above systems.
• Work with IT, Legal, and other supporting functions on the design, governance, compliance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of above systems.

The essential requirements of the job include:  

• 15+ years in Software Engineering, including technical leadership and management roles.
• BA, MS or PhD in Computer Science or similar discipline.
• Significant experience and expertise in architecture, design, and implementation of large-scale systems supporting multiple data modalities, Petabytes of data across multiple modalities, specifically for Machine Learning clients and applications.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and stakeholder management abilities are required for this role.
• Experience with shared codebases at large scale is a huge plus, ideally involving multiple business units, operating companies, or legal entities that access a shared codebase.
• Familiarity and experience with Cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), and abstraction layers (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake).
• Experience with data in the healthcare space is strongly preferred.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: 

• Experience with HIPAA and other regulatory frameworks
• Experience in Big Tech
• Experience with healthcare data products across various modalities (e.g. imaging, EHR, clinical data)
