This is a remote position.
Reconcile and categorize transactions for multiple clients, with a focus on real estate properties
Manage principal and interest splits for real estate transactions
Ensure accurate coding of transactions to specific properties in multi-property portfolios
Communicate directly with clients via email to resolve transaction queries or categorization issues
Prepare financial statements and reports as needed
Assist with general bookkeeping tasks for various clients
Utilize Keeper for client communication and management
Perform bookkeeping tasks with expertise in QuickBooks Online, with some knowledge of FreshBooks and QuickBooks Desktop
Execute bill pay and advanced bookkeeping functions as needed
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices
Experience with GAAP accounting, cash basis accounting, and accrual accounting
Experience with real estate accounting preferred
Excellent written communication skills in English
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Online required, FreshBooks and QuickBooks Desktop preferred)
Ability to work independently, proactively ask questions, and communicate effectively
Comfortable growing into a role that involves email communication with clients
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Flexible hours, but must be available on certain days for meetings:
Evenings (9 PM - 10 PM CT) or Mornings (8 AM - 10 AM CT) to discuss QuickBooks questions/issues
Part-time position (20 hours/week) with potential to transition to full-time by end of 2025
Remote work with direct reporting to the firm owner
Handling 2-5 client accounts initially, with room for growth
Focusing on bookkeeping tasks, not including tax work or client-facing meetings
