Job description

We are looking for a Sr. Payroll Specialist to join our Accounting team. You will be responsible for payroll processing of all hourly and salaried employees. You should be a self-starting, resourceful, well-organized teammate with the ability to work well under pressure, maintain a positive attitude, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Accurately process both hourly and salaried payroll on a bi-weekly basis
  • Partnering with Vimeo Human Resources to own the Hire to Retire process for Payroll, adhering to internal controls.
  • Ensuring all local statutory payroll and fringe benefit reporting requirements are met.
  • Maintains and tracks tax and filing notices outsourced to our payroll vendor.
  • Enter current involuntary payroll deductions (Wage Garnishments, Levy, Child Support).
  • Process stock transactions through the UKG system.
  • Process wage/salary change requests for retroactive payouts.
  • Generate standard reports and identify and research exceptions.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Process terminations and pay out accrued unused vacation and/or PTO, according to Vimeo policy.
  • Recommend and participate in the development of new procedures and policies related to payroll operations.
  • Learns and develops knowledge of Vimeo policies, while complying with state and federal regulations. 
  • Organize completed payroll records, print, file, and maintain on a bi-weekly basis.  
  • Provide prompt, professional, and efficient customer service to employees who have questions regarding their pay, deductions, paid leave balances and other payroll-related questions. 

Skills and knowledge you should possess: 

  • Due to the nature of the role, the person in this position would exercise discretion.  This position would have access to highly confidential information for every employee at Vimeo.  Confidentiality is a must.
  • They will be responsible for making independent judgments and not having to rely on management in each instance.
  • Strong functional Payroll knowledge and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a large payroll department processing North American payroll
  • BS Degree in Accounting, CPA, FPC, CPP preferred
  • Have a knowledge of and keep current with the taxation of salaries, benefits, and other factors.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret payroll data. Understanding of multi-jurisdiction, employee equity transactions, and/or deferrals
  • Must have demonstrated ability to multitask, be detail-oriented, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Experience using UKG Ultimate Software (UltiPro) and UltiPro Time Maintenance for payroll processing a plus. 

Base Salary Range:

  • NYC Metro, Bay Area, Seattle, & Los Angeles:  Hourly rate: $29.81- $41.35
  • All other US cities outside above metro areas:   Hourly rate: $26.83- $37.21
