Technical Services Representative (Southern Ontario)

Position Overview:

As a Technical Services Representative, you will play a key role in the Wear Services Business Unit, delivering comprehensive wear solutions to end users across Southern Ontario. You will focus on expanding Castolin Eutectic’s market presence by leveraging our advanced technology and service offerings, with a particular emphasis on cement, construction, energy, and associated fabrication sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Development:

  • Drive growth of Castolin Eutectic’s wear services, including CDP wearplate, CastoChrome, Castodur, LaserClad, and other complementary products.

  • Target key accounts in heavy industry, construction, and fabrication sectors.

Strategic Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Services Team, Product Managers, and Marketing to identify opportunities, provide technical support, and develop joint market penetration strategies.

Customer Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, including end users in cement, construction, and heavy industries.

  • Deliver tailored solutions that address customer needs.

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by addressing customer needs with Castolin Eutectic’s service capabilities.

  • Develop strategies and messaging for new customer acquisition and existing customer expansion.

Opportunity Pipeline Management:

  • Use Dynamics CRM to maintain and track a pipeline of opportunities, ensuring accurate reporting.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical, design, and product support, assisting customers with wear-related queries, proposals, and quotations.

Market Intelligence:

  • Monitor competitor activities and pricing, providing timely feedback to inform strategic decisions.

Business Planning:

  • Develop and implement objectives, strategies, and business plans to achieve growth targets for the Wear Services business.

Cross-Regional Collaboration:

  • Share best practices with colleagues in other regions to drive continuous improvement in technical and commercial approaches.

Performance Accountability:

  • Achieve sales volume, revenue targets, and enhanced gross profit margins for the Wear Services business.

Administrative Duties:

  • Contribute to the development of a Services Growth Strategic Plan aligned with the company’s vision and objectives.

  • Identify and communicate critical business issues, collaborating with internal teams to resolve them.

  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events.

  • Keep documentation updated in CRM and submit weekly expense reports.

  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Engineering degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Experience: 5-10 years of relevant industrial sales experience in wear services or related industries.

  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of wear management solutions used in heavy industries.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic understanding of maintenance and repair welding.

  • Hunter mentality with cold-calling experience.

  • Knowledge of key industry clients and their market position.

  • Mechanical aptitude and basic print reading skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong consultative communication skills.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized with effective time management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 60%.
