Summary of This Role

Pigeonhole Software (PHS) is a proven web-based software solution that delivers automated class list creation to customers in more than 20 countries – but predominantly in Australia and the USA. Our tailor-made software automates manual tasks performed by teachers, freeing them to focus on improving school and student outcomes. PHS is the trusted solution of choice in over 2000 schools around the world.

The Account Executive role generates revenue through sales to new and existing accounts. Collects information to better understand business issues, problems, and opportunities and to identify sales prospects. Prepares quantitative, qualitative, and financial data for use in pricing and sales presentations. Ensures sales plans and key account strategies are implemented and sales/financial goals are obtained.

What Part Will You Play?
  • Proactively generate new business in your allocated territory and beyond

  • Increase the number of new school clients from all school sectors (public, catholic and independent)

  • Increase revenue from existing clients through upsell opportunities

  • Engage with and support marketing campaigns promoted by head office

  • Engage with and support conferences and network events attended by PHS

  • Promote the PHS brand and values to develop positive brand awareness

  • Provide feedback of emerging trends and requirements in schools 

  • Work with and support colleagues to promote learning, contribute to problem solving and drive ongoing growth and innovation

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and suggest strategies and actions for resolution

  • Work with and support colleagues to promote learning, contribute to problem solving and drive effective and efficient practices

  • Participate in projects aligned to your expertise that lie outside the scope of this role

  • Other duties as reasonably requested by PHS

What Are We Looking For in This Role?
Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years+ of Sales and/or Account Management experience

  • Excellent consultation and negotiation skills with the ability to engage with all stakeholder levels

  • A professional personal presentation and ability to think outside the box

  • A team player that is self motivated

  • Bonus points for start-up experience but not required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Skills / Knowledge - Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve moderately complex issues in creative and effective ways. Having ownership of a sub-function, account or matrix management responsibilities, applies knowledge to meet goals, maintain relationships, propose opportunities to expand the business, and lead matrix teams. Some barriers to entry exist at this level (e.g., dept./peer review).

  • Job Complexity - Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Builds on/Maintains external relationships of assigned accounts.

  • Negotiation Skills - Ability to close a deal

  • Interpersonal/Communication Skills/Building Relationships - Orchestrate work across internal and external teams

  • Presentation Skills - Present sales presentation and sales process to client
