Because our products impact both consumers and content creators, we seek someone who can fluidly move among both worlds, applying strong product principles and strategic frameworks, while deeply empathizing with the art and craft required to create great content.
As a product manager at Netflix, you will:

Author strategy memos and presentations and represent your team’s work to senior executives.
Lead a team of stunning colleagues across design, engineering, and data science to deliver outstanding products to our customers.
Build business cases and measure the impact of your product innovation.
Work alongside your design partners to deeply understand and socialize the evolving needs of our customers.
Operate with true transparency and autonomy while consistently seeking feedback and input from partners to drive successful product outcomes. Our culture is unique and is key to how we innovate.
The Role
We are looking for a Product Manager to advance our portfolio of products and services that help our members discover and choose from a world of entertainment choices. This includes underlying data services and taxonomies that power how we classify content and games, algorithmic solutions that accelerate how we editorialize and rate our catalog, in addition to applications that help curate the discovery experiences that engage our members.
This will be a remote-friendly role and would be best for candidates located in the eastern time zone, as this role will navigate relationships with global stakeholders and engineering teams. Bi-monthly in-person travel may be necessary to collaborate with stakeholders and partners across the US, with occasional EMEA travel. That said, we can always make exceptions in location for the right candidate.
As a Product Manager in Merchandising & Content Understanding, you will be responsible for:
Driving initiatives across our editorial creative portfolio of products that classify and curate content at scale
Partnering with our Product Metadata and Ratings (PMR) partner teams who are responsible for the metadata we apply to titles driving discovery experiences, ratings, and informing how we promote our titles to:
Improve how Netflix applies editorial and caution metadata to our titles and assets, driving quality and impact measurement
Innovating on our operational tagging workflows, including design and integration of AI-first solutions to drive scale, quality, and accuracy
Partnering with our Merchandising team who are responsible for curating collections of titles to drive effective discovery and choosing
Our wish list for the person in this role (remember, no one ever gets everything on their wish list!):
5+ years of Product Management experience with a proven record of prioritizing and successfully launching products or platforms
Ability to inspire, motivate and lead a cross-functional team - your ability to build strong relationships is critical to success
Demonstrated experience partnering effectively with data science teams to develop, validate, and utilize metrics and analysis to inform priorities, influence business decisions, and evaluate impact of initiatives
Excellent communication skills; timely communication with clear expectations whether in written documents, small group discussions, large-scale presentations, or to executives.
An ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive alignment amid ambiguity.
