ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF)

The Regional Community Sales Manager (CSM) reports to the Community Banking National Sales Leader and is responsible for the regional sales strategy to acquire and grow client relationships underbanked and underserved segments. The CSM’s are also responsible for shoulder-to-shoulder coaching that supports their Retail Community Center Branch (CCB) teams. CSM’s coach to effectively delivering Consumer Banking products and financial education programs to prospective and existing Community Banking client segments.  

The CSM engages and closely partners with Retail Market Sales Leadership across the respective regions and other lines of business partners to ensure a cohesive and consistent execution for deliver client focused advice and solutions to support their branch partners in achieving performance goals.  

      

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Shoulder-to-shoulder coach, development, and support to Community Center Branch teams on how to effectively engage, educate, and empower consumer clients, prospects, and Centers of Influence (COI) on bank products, services, and financial education.
  • Partner with CCB Branch Managers to establish critical employer relationships in defined markets and partner with branch teams to pitch workplace banking relationships.
  • Partner with Retail Market Sales Leadership to implement sales activities that drive Community Banking client acquisition and growth, which includes but is not limited to increasing deposits, lending, and relationship households and share of wallet.
  • Meet or exceed established Community Banking client growth and relationship goals by reinforcing tools to support client interactions. This is accomplished through observational and shoulder-to-shoulder coaching sessions, joint calls, and supporting in-market acquisition activities.
  • Partner with Retail Market Sales Leadership to observe branch team behaviors and collaborate on performance management efforts, when applicable, to ensure consistent and effective delivery and to share best practice implementation of Community Bank programs, products, services, and financial education.
  • Provide education and financial coaching sessions with the Retail branches and communities across the respective region.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Responsibility Officers (CRO) to exceed Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) objectives and action items established by the Corporate Responsibility Line of Business.
  • Actively partner with CROs, as appropriate and when time permits, to participate and encourage participation, in community organizations to source business development opportunities and demonstrate Key’s commitment to the local communities served.
  • Build trusting relationships with Retail Market Leadership and Community Center Branch teams to ensure that Community Banking programs, tools and resources are leveraged in BAU client acquisition and deepening activities.
  • Share best practices with other Regional Community Sales Managers to foster an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Participate in community listening session to gain insights and collaborate on solutions for community concerns.
  • Actively participate in the opening of new DeNovo locations and play a key role in their ongoing development.
  • Play an active role in developing and supporting small business banking working intentionally with branch teammates and business partners such as CM’s, VRMs, KMS, etc.  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Three years in a sales management role or demonstrated ability to manage and coach sales teams to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Three plus years demonstrated sales and business development experience with proven results.
  • Proven confidence regarding calling on business owners and decision makers, including senior level executives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong presentation skills with the demonstrated ability to engage in and lead group interactive dialogue.
  • Strong customer services skills
  • In depth knowledge of financial products and banking regulations. Must be familiar with employee-focused products and services to maximize cross sell opportunities (Key@Work, Key Investment Services. Paychex, Health Savings Accounts, etc.)  
  • Demonstrated ability to provide business development coaching support.
  • Ability to maintain balance in a high-paced environment and effectively organize priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience with a broad understanding of personal and commercial financial statements. Ability to factor risk management into daily business activities.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $95,000 to $120,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
