Position Summary

The Chicago School seeks an experienced and dedicated College Director of Placement and Training to oversee and enhance the quality and consistency of training experiences across the College of Professional Psychology. The College of Professional Psychology is comprised of programs in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, forensic psychology, school psychology and clinical psychopharmacology. This role ensures the strategic development of training sites, standardizes training policies, and manages the training database, aligning with accreditation standards and best practices. Reporting to the College Dean and working with program-level training leadership, the College Director of Placement and Training will collaborate with leaders across various departments to advance the mission, vision, and goals of The Chicago School. This position is remote with occasional domestic travel required.

Key Responsibilities

Broad Oversight of Training

  • Ensure the quality and consistency of training experiences across all programs within the College.

  • Oversee the onboarding and ongoing training of program Directors of Clinical Training.

  • Conduct annual campus site visits, as applicable, and support expansion of programs’ network of practicum and internship sites.

  • In collaboration with the College Dean, ensure proper program-level leadership coverage for all College programs with training needs.

Strategic Development of Training Sites

  • Provide leadership and consultation support in helping DCTs and ADOTs, identify and develop sufficient training sites to meet the training needs of all students in all locations. 

  • Guide and support the establishment of internship consortia to expand pre-doctoral training opportunities.

  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with practicum sites both on-site and through remote interactions.

Policy and Procedure Collaboration

  • Work with other colleges to standardize clinical training policies and procedures.

  • Ensure alignment with accreditation standards and best practices.

  • Communicate and advocate for best practices and training-related policies to both students and faculty.

National Oversight of Policy and Procedure Management

  • In collaboration with other College Directors of Clinical Training, take responsibility for national oversight of policy and procedure management for issues impacting all training programs.

  • Ensure consistent implementation and adherence to policies across all colleges.

Tevera Training Database Management

  • Oversight of the management of the Tevera training database.

  • Ensure accurate data entry, maintenance, and utilization of the database for tracking student progress and training site information.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate in a field relevant to the programs overseen, including professional licensure or certification.

  • 5+ years of experience in training and graduate-level student supervision.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing training protocols and training sites.

  • Professional Licensure aligned with one of the programs overseen in college role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Director of Training experience of at least 5 years, preferably in combined on-ground/online settings.

  • Clinical experience in a field relevant to programs overseen.

  • Record of scholarship and/or community service.

Compensation & Benefits

This opportunity is budgeted at $85,000-$110,000 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
