Job description

Finance Intern

Work Location:

Remote - USA

Schedule:

Full time

To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, this position will engage in a departmental internship, gaining experience in various aspects of the assigned role while contributing to the development and execution of the department’s tasks, projects, and goals.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 Personal:         

  • Be a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ: growing in love for God, God's Word, God's people of every ethnicity and culture, and God's purposes in the world

Contribute to the effectiveness of the team or project:

•     Participate in team meetings, project brainstorming, and evaluation sessions

  • Execute assigned projects/events in partnership with the team and/or other cross-departmental teams

Provide administrative support:

  • May create and maintain databases for assigned work
  • Prepare and provide reports as requested
  • Respond to voice mail and e-mail inquiries
  • Perform office functions to support own work
  • Assist in miscellaneous functions of the department

Maintain technical and professional growth and development:

  • Stay current with systems and applications InterVarsity uses to support the daily work of the ministry
  • Attend workshops and classes as necessary

Develop a funding base (amount to be determined):

  • Develop and contact a list of potential donors
  • Communicate with donors quarterly

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith
  • High school degree and currently enrolled in an undergraduate program
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize events and the details involved
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and files
  • Ability to take charge of tasks and work independently without close supervision
  • Ability to develop procedures for doing work
  • Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines
  • Open to learn new concepts, methods and skills
  • A working knowledge of current Microsoft software applications (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams) is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a diverse team environment

Pay Range: $12.01 - $16.01 per hour
