Job description

Buyer/Planner

We are seeking a Buyer/Planner to join our growing and innovative team. You will have the opportunity to make an impact quickly, have direct exposure to key leaders in the organization and contribute to the growth and expansion of the company.

As a Buyer/Planner, your primary focus will be to monitor and manage cooking oil inventory levels for our depots across the country. You’ll support the Category Manager to maintain/manage supplier relationships and manage/coordinate logistics for our 41 depots. You’ll leverage strong communication skills to communicate across multiple business units and have the ability to learn the facets of the role quickly. Location:  this role is fully remote, but you must live in the continental US.

Schedule:  Monday – Friday, with an on call weekend rotation (about every 4 weeks)

Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 annually, plus participation in an annual company performance based incentive plan. Please note that the base salary will vary based on geographic location, market conditions, and the candidate's experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and utilize interact excel tool to manage open purchase orders (PO) for tanker deliveries to our depots
  • Determine when depots have the allowable capacity to schedule and receive delivery of oil tankers
  • Confirm open PO report with suppliers on a weekly basis
  • Support other facets- pricing discrepancies, Paper/powder purchases, support management of oil database
  • Buying and managing of miscellaneous non-oil parts and inventory (upon request)
  • Support depot needs when purchases or research is required
  • Creative thinking to find solutions to tanker delivery problems to prevent oil outs.
  • Oil forecasting from historical data to source tankers for remaining month, quarter and year.
  • Remediate invoicing issues and validated detention/demurrage charges.
  • Report and resolved damage claims.
  • Strategize process improvements to develop efficient ways to manage changes in oil production and distribution to prevent customers from running out of oil.

 Requirement:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (external and internal)
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Excel
  • Functional skills with Microsoft Outlook and Word
  • Data entry-database management and inventory tracking

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous experience creating and managing purchase orders in an ERP system (Oracle Fusion preferred)
  • HACCP training
