Purpose and Scope of Position
As Assistant Account Executive, you will support the Account Executive Team and act as the principal facilitator of assigned accounts.
Organizational Relationship
This position reports directly to the Vice President, Head of Commercial Lines for WDIS. This position does not supervise others.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assistant Account Executive will perform front-to-end activities throughout the life cycle of prospect accounts from submission to expiration with an oversight.
- Pre-underwrites, evaluates risk, and assesses completeness of the underwriting submission before underwriter is required to review.
- Communicate directly with Brokers on behalf of the Account Executive Team to collect account and insured information necessary for risk analysis.
- Perform and apply knowledge of line of business specific product underwriting rules and/or guidelines for pre-analysis support of submission in preparation of further analysis for quoting stage.
- Develop initial pricing, basic coverage structuring, quotation, and binder packages of the risk on behalf of the Underwriter.
- Collaborate effectively with Underwriters, Brokers, Agents, and internal units within WDIS to manage the status and workflow of multiple tasks and accounts.
- Communicate account status to ensure completion of outstanding subjectivities needed to execute policy issuance and premium collection as part of bound accounts.
- Develops initial pricing, basic coverage structuring, quotation, and binder packages of the risk on behalf of the underwriter.
- Calculate base rating and apply experience modifications as part of underwriting for Underwriter review.
- Manage the workflow of multiple tasks and maintain a detailed understanding of the status of various tasks assigned by Underwriters.
- Communicate account status to ensure completion of all tasks.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications (i.e. education, certifications, etc…)
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or Property/Casualty insurance experience.
- Holds MT/CA P&C Agent/Broker License or is committed to becoming an agent in 90 days from date of hire and is able to obtain other licenses after hire date.
- Insurance industry designations are a plus.
- Experience in a wildfire response service experience is also a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Experience
- Verify Latitudes/Longitudes and work closely with WDS team to ensure accuracy of building locations on all binders.
- Follow up and obtain items on binder checklist.
- Process bind order and invoices with high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction.
- At least 3 years of Underwriting Assistant Experience.
- Collaborates with WDIS team and assists with departmental specific reports or projects as needed
- Ability to work in a fast paced start up team environment with a desire to learn and understand our insurance product offerings and value proposition.
