Job description

Expected Behaviors and Summary of Position

Reporting to the Director of Shareholder Employment Advancement, the position is responsible for managing and administering programs and activities that advance the education and training opportunities for NANA shareholders. This position is responsible for the support of shareholder education and training at NANA and its family of companies.

  • This position is an onsite position in Anchorage, Alaska. We are not offering a fully remote work option at this time.**


Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Manages the college internship program to include professional and culturally relevant components.
  • Work with shareholders to assist and counsel them to become prepared for education and training programs.
  • Travel to NANA work sites to effectively identify, encourage and work with shareholders interested in education and training opportunities.
  • Creatively market and reach out to shareholders to participate in education and training programs.
  • Maintain access to education resources and services available to the community.
  • Establish relationships with external businesses and organizations to promote and support shareholder employment and training efforts.
  • Collaborate and coordinate visits to present education and training information to shareholder students.
  • Track and prepare reports on measures taken in support of education & training and shareholder hire metrics.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, emails, memoranda, documents, and presentations.
  • Arrange shareholder programs, events and conferences including travel plans, itineraries, schedules, and administrative functions.
  • Assist in shareholder services when shareholders call or visit the Anchorage office.
  • Support shareholder tasks in cooperation with Human Resources and Recruiting.
  • Other duties that are relevant to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.


Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a NANA shareholder who owns stock in NANA Regional Corporation, Inc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited educational institution. Additional, relevant work experience will be considered on a year-for-year basis in lieu of a degree.
  • 5-years relevant work experience that demonstrates intermediate knowledge of business operations and activities.
  • Experience in human resources, training, education or workforce readiness and development preferred.
  • Experience balancing multiple activities while still paying attention to details.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations as well as build positive relationships with shareholders and partners.
  • Must be able to operate in a strict climate of confidentiality and discretion.
  • To perform this job successfully, the employee must have intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and ability to learn other computer programs as required by assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrated track record in displaying strong initiative and performance delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NANA’s vehicle insurance policy.


Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather Indoors environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside unless traveling to businesses, environments will vary depending on industry.

Physical requirements Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.

Travel Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time within the NANA Region and to other locations as needed. Work to be done in both urban and non-urban areas using many different means of transportation.

The position requires reading, detailed work, problem solving, interactions with other companies including other NANA companies, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, will require the employee in the position to manage multiple concurrent tasks, and handle constant interruptions.
