Attorney Learning & Development Specialist

The Attorney Learning & Development Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the firm’s attorney training programs are effectively executed across all regions. The firm-wide role requires strong project management, organizational, and communication skills to coordinate learning initiatives, track CLE and bar compliance, manage the firm’s LMS, and support curriculum development. The Specialist will work closely with members of the Attorney Learning & Development Group (ALDG), faculty and stakeholders across the firm’s offices to enhance attorney training and professional growth globally. Responsibilities may evolve to meet department and firm priorities, including initiatives in talent development, learning innovations, or process improvements. This individual will ensure client service and satisfaction are attained in all areas of position.

Experienced Patent Agent

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
    • Preparation and prosecution of patent applications
    • IP strategy and portfolio management
  • Strong Ph.D. level background in life sciences or medicine
  • Outstanding writing and analytical skills, and top academic credentials are essential

Scientific Analyst Intern

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in:
    • Preparing and prosecuting patent applications
    • Contributing to prosecution strategy
    • Providing technical and legal research and analysis with respect to matters pending before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
    • Providing technical support for patent interference and litigation proceedings
Senior Business Development Coordinator (Litigation)

The Senior Business Development Coordinator works closely with our litigation practice groups and business development managers to coordinate and execute on business development plans, initiatives and materials.

  • Collaborate closely with business development managers, providing substantive, “right hand” assistance in the execution of business development plans.
  • Edit, update, draft, and maintain practice group marketing materials, including practice group descriptions, attorney biographies, and content for the website.
  • Provide substantive support in preparing pitches and RFPs, including research, preparing collateral, and assembling materials.
  • Create dynamic PowerPoint presentations for partner pitches and internal communications.
  • Initiate and provide requested research using Firm and online tools to develop intelligence on prospective targets, industries, markets, etc.
  • Coordinate and provide supporting research for speaking and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Participate in completing timely submissions to directories and ranking authorities, ensure rankings in preferred publications, such as Chambers & Partners, are maximized.

Senior Payroll Tax & Compliance Analyst

It’s an exciting time to join our collaborative and fast-paced Payroll team!

  • Conduct payroll tax research and respond to questions and special requests from employees, management, and regulatory agencies regarding payroll withholding and reporting procedures.
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll tax reports for quarter and year-end close, resolving discrepancies.
  • Process W2 corrections and amendments for federal and state tax returns.
  • Review, reconcile, and conduct variance analysis of Firm’s payroll general ledger accounts.
  • Lead Payroll audit activities, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external regulatory agencies.
  • Manage state unclaimed property/escheatment process according to each state’s reporting and remittance requirements.
  • Perform pay period audit of Berlin payroll to ensure accuracy prior to finalization. May perform similar audits for US or Singapore payrolls.
  • Stay current with regulations, payroll practices, and industry trends affecting domestic and international personnel.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of procedures to optimize these processes.

Sr. U.S. Filing Specialist

Under general direction, performs complex and specialized work related to the specific function of providing patent prosecution support for clients to whom assigned. Provides organizational and substantive support for assigned clients. Responsibilities include providing client support for portfolio management, filings with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Redbooking deadlines and Docketing. Responsible for monitoring and expediting workflow for assigned clients. Ensures client services and satisfaction are attained in all areas of position.

Trademark Prosecution Paralegal

  • Assist in planning and managing trademark portfolios.
  • Assist with preparation, filing, prosecution and maintenance of trademark applications at U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Initiate foreign filings and correspond with foreign trademark agents regarding trademark applications.
  • Monitor prosecution deadlines.
  • Prepare status charts and communicate with clients regarding new and pending applications.
  • Conduct on-line trademark searches and other investigatory functions.
  • Prepare due diligence reports.
  • Organize, maintain and update files and docket information related to clients’ trademark portfolios.
