Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious customer marketing manager to join our growing team at RyeStrategy, a mission-oriented startup specialized in helping companies reduce their carbon footprints and pursue ambitious sustainability goals. This is a fully remote, full-time role with required travel for in-person events and meetings 6-8 times per year.

As the Customer Marketing Manager, you will work directly with the Head of Marketing, in collaboration with the customer success and sales teams, to create, execute, and monitor our customer marketing programs across both SMB and enterprise clients. As the owner of this program, you will manage in-person and virtual events, customer story content, customer communications, and more. The ideal candidate has managed a successful customer marketing program from initial advocate identification and recruiting to performance tracking and operationalization. You will be joining RyeStrategy at the ground floor, and will play an essential role in its long-term company growth and positive environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute customer marketing strategies to drive engagement, retention, and new business.
  • Build and manage customer advocacy programs, including case studies, testimonials, and customer referral initiatives.
  • Create and nurture a customer community through events, forums, and ambassador programs.
  • Lead Voice of the Customer (VoC) initiatives, gathering insights through surveys, interviews, and NPS programs to influence marketing and product strategies.
  • Develop and execute customer lifecycle campaigns, including email marketing, loyalty programs, and targeted engagement efforts.
  • Lead customer event strategy, including in-person and virtual events, webinars, and exclusive customer experiences.
  • Monitor and analyze customer marketing performance metrics, leveraging data to refine strategies and demonstrate impact.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years professional experience as a customer marketing manager, or similar
  • 1+ year experience using a CRM (ie. Hubspot, Salesforce) and/or marketing automation tool (ie. Hubspot, Marketo)
  • 1+ year experience coordinating and hosting webinars and/or in-person events
  • Ability to plan and write content for email communications and customer story content
  • Proven track record of managing competing priorities, accurately tracking multiple projects, and consistently meeting deadlines
  • Proven experience managing a VIP group of active and engaged advocate partners
  • If your background doesn't meet our qualifications perfectly, don't let that stop you from applying -- we are a group of self-starters and continual learners who prioritize passion, commitment, and work ethic over all else. If you're feeling unsure, we strongly encourage you to apply and to place extra emphasis on your "why RyeStrategy".

Nice to have:

  • Sustainability marketing experience, especially related to corporate decarbonization
  • Experiencing creating or maintaining customer evangelism and referral programs
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business management, or similar fields
  • Project management experience

We'd love to talk if you are:

  • Passionate about the environment and ready to make a change in the corporate world
  • Able to work independently and in teams
  • An excellent communicator in written, verbal, and graphic formats
  • Able to think creatively and analytically, while thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic, and oftentimes ambiguous work environment
  • Able to represent yourself and the organization well through warm, professional conduct

Role Specifics:

  • Full-time
