What You'll Be Doing

What We Need

Corpay is currently looking to hire a Senior BackEnd Developer within our Corpay One – Engineering division. This position falls under our Corpay line of business and is a remote based position. We are looking for someone to deliver effective support to both external clients/suppliers and colleagues across all applications. Responsible for investigating software issues raised by clients, identifying the appropriate solution, and prioritising against the client’s business requirements, planned future development and available resource. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager and regularly collaborate with other department/teams as needed.

As a Senior BackEnd Developer you will be expected to work in a remote environment. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

  • Assigned workspace in home office setup
  • Company-issued equipment + remote access
  • Formal, hands-on training

Role Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Working as part of a small team, with exceptional teamwork skills.
  • Developing source code in C# and modern .NET.
  • Working on a daily basis with Relational Database Management Systems Design (MySQL or MSSQL).
  • Operating with an awareness of the impact that the work of a Senior Software Engineer may have on-going projects for a particular client (internal or external), ensuring that suitable communication/updates are sent to relevant stakeholders.
  • Operating with a high attention to detail and quality in development and testing practices.
  • Undertaking debugging and troubleshooting software-related issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Skills

The role will focus on BackEnd Development and so the successful applicant will have:

  • Comfortable working with an existing codebase
  • 5+ years of experience working with C#
  • In-depth .NET knowledge (experience with .NET 7/8 would be a plus)
  • Experience creating and maintaining REST APIs
  • Familiarity with agile environments
  • Experience with asynchronous programming
  • Experience with message brokers for high volume data processing between systems
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Comfortable working remotely and communicating via camera / microphone over tools such as Zoom
  • Development on SaaS systems deployed in the cloud would be beneficial
  • Experience with GraphQL, Hangfire, and/or Aurora (MySQL)
