Job description

Become an Assembler! We are looking for an Orthopedic and Physical Therapy Revenue Cycle Account Manager to join our Physician RCM division at Assembly Health. This role focuses on managing onshore accounts, resolving escalations, and addressing denials requiring attention. You will collaborate closely with our offshore team and act as the primary liaison with clients.

This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to our Senior Physician RCM Leadership Team.

What you'll do

  • Client Communication & Relationship Management
    • Deliver clear, positive, and high-quality communication with clients.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact across multiple clients, addressing inquiries and concerns proactively.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including practice owners and healthcare providers.
    • Conduct regular client meetings to review RCM performance, discuss challenges, and align on financial goals.
    • Provide ongoing education on RCM processes, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
  • Process Improvement & Revenue Optimization
    • Identify and implement improvements in documentation, workflow, and revenue cycle processes.
    • Advise clients on areas for optimization, including coding, modifier usage, and new revenue opportunities.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to address payer issues, reimbursement challenges, and operational bottlenecks.
    • Investigate and resolve client concerns related to claims, payments, or system inefficiencies.
    • Identify automation and technology enhancements to streamline operations.
  • RCM Operations
    • Assist with all aspects of the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) process, including pre-authorizations, billing, coding (as necessary), denial management, and appeals.
    • Monitor and manage denial trends, working cross-functionally to resolve issues, appeal claims, and improve first-pass resolution rates.
    • Collaborate with billing and coding teams to ensure accurate and compliant documentation and coding, minimizing errors and optimizing reimbursement.
  • Leadership & Team Supervision
    • Oversee a multi-disciplinary team (onshore and offshore) handling all aspects of Revenue Cycle Management.
    • Supervise billing supervisors and representatives, providing coaching and professional development.
    • Review staff performance trends and implement quality improvement initiatives.
    • Present reports to leadership on necessary staffing changes and operational efficiency.
  • Performance Analysis & Reporting
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), denial rates, AR aging, and net collections.
    • Generate and analyze comprehensive reports utilizing Athena One, InSync, and ModMed (Modernizing Medicine) platforms.
    • Utilize the data and create client presentations with clear, digestible insights.
    • Provide detailed insights and recommendations to optimize revenue collection and minimize delays.
    • Communicate RCM health status to clients and leadership.
  • Compliance & Strategic Execution
    • Ensure adherence to industry regulations, including HIPAA, CMS, and payer policies.
    • Develop and execute action plans to improve financial outcomes for clients.
    • Partner with leadership to refine workflows and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Manage and oversee additional tasks and projects as assigned, ensuring timely completion and alignment with organizational goals.
What we're looking for

  • 5-7 years of experience in orthopedic and physical therapy revenue cycle management, medical billing, or healthcare account management.
  • Strong proficiency in Athena One, with the ability to generate and interpret detailed reports. Expertise in InSync and ModMed (Modernizing Medicine), including advanced reporting capabilities highly preferred.
  • Background in Physician Professional Billing and multi-specialty billing.
  • Experience overseeing workflow functions and supervising staff.
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business, Finance, or a related field (preferred). CPC, COSC, or CASCC certification (preferred but not required).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-10), insurance verification, and reimbursement processes. Extensive experience in orthopedic denial management, including securing retro-authorizations.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong analytical ability for financial reporting, data analysis, and KPI tracking.
  • Must have a professional home office setup, including phone and internet access.
  • Some limited travel may be required.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer. Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds.

The salary range for this position is: $60,000 - $80,000. Compensation for this role is based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws. The expected salary range for this position reflects these considerations and may vary accordingly. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may have the opportunity to participate in company bonus programs.
