Summary

Diagram is launching an AI-powered third party administrator (TPA) to reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction for the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry. We are looking for an entrepreneurial and highly motivated Co-Founder & CEO to shape the vision, build a star-studded team, and scale the business.

Please note: This is not an employee opportunity at Diagram Ventures, but in a new company created through our venture studio model. This company will be independent of Diagram Ventures, and the founding team will receive the majority of the equity in the venture.

The Opportunity

The insurance industry is at an inflection point. Carriers are grappling with historically high costs, rising adjuster turnover, and significant tech debt. It’s estimated that $170 billion in premiums are at risk over the next five years due to inefficient claims processes, and carriers are urgently searching for ways to reduce cycle time while mitigating claim leakage.

That’s why Diagram Ventures is launching an AI-powered TPA to intelligently streamline the millions of low-risk, high-frequency P&C claims filed each year and deliver actionable insights to carriers, MGAs, and self insured organizations.

Who we are looking for

We’re assembling a world-class team and seeking an accomplished Chief Executive Officer to drive the venture forward and define its strategic vision. As the CEO, you will:

Build and manage a talented team of early hires to develop and scale an AI-powered claims processing platform
Identify and establish partnerships with carriers, MGAs, and self-insured entities
Craft and implement a clear strategy to drive market penetration and customer acquisition
Use your industry connections to foster partnerships with carriers and other stakeholders to accelerate growth
Lead the organization to achieve its strategic objectives by working across all functions of the business (product, operations, marketing, sales, tech, finance, etc.)
Work with the founding team and investors to secure capital and support the company’s expansion.
Work closely with the investors/board

Background and experience:

Successful track-record of leading a business as a CEO, President, COO, Chief Insurance Officer, Chief Claims Officer, or in a capacity with P&L ownership.
Previously took a business or product from 0 to 1, with demonstrated ability to raise venture capital
Strong experience working in the P&C insurance industry, and, ideally, with direct oversight of the claims management function (preference for experience with auto claims)
Strong network of insurance carriers (national + regional), MGAs, and self insured contacts in the industry and a track record of successful partnership facilitation
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present and persuade at all levels of an organization
Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and business development
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment

Other desirable attributes:

Former founder/co-founder or early hire at a venture backed insurtech
Past experience building and leading a claims management organization
A successful track record developing and selling AI-powered products
