Job Description

Digital Communications Officer.

Salary: £31,700 per annum.

Location: London /Hybrid. /Remote. (if you reside in London, you will be entitled to the Inner London Allowance of £3,333 per annum).

Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week.

A Bit About The Role 

It's an exciting time to join the Digital Communications Team at Action for Children, and we are looking for a collaborative, energised and forward-thinking individual to join our ambitious team of communication professionals.

As Digital Communications Officer, you will manage and be responsible for producing and delivering external communications on the Action for Children website that promote the organisation and the issues relating to children and young people, and to influence and engage supporters to act.

You'll help to create brighter futures by:

  • Planning, curating, and producing high-quality blog content for the public-facing Action for Children website.
  • Identifying new opportunities for blog reach to be increased.
  • Creating and delivering engaging and shareable content to show the impact that Action for Children has on young people's lives, across all digital channels.
  • Coordinating activity with the social media and media teams to align messaging.
  • Reviewing and reporting on KPIs relevant to digital content.
  • Continually improve and develop the Action for Children website via our Content Governance programme.
  • Working with the Digital Platform Team to ensure content aligns with the technical capabilities of the Action for Children website.
  • Interrogating campaign briefs and help teams to define content requirements and opportunities.

Let's talk about you

  • Experience writing content for online platforms (website/blog/social media).
  • A working knowledge of content management systems (CMS).
  • Experience in search engine optimisation (SEO).
  • Digital editorial and/or journalism.
  • Target setting, reporting and user experience (UX).
  • A familiarity with PPC advertising.
  • A familiarity with Google Analytics.

  • A strong ability to multitask and plan your work.
  • The ability to influence beyond your position.
