We're enthusiastic participants in several open-source communities and have real relationships with many of our most active customers. If all of this sounds interesting to you, read on!

The Role

Pantheon is looking for a Staff Product Manager to join our driven and highly collaborative Product Management team. This role supports our Platform area in delivering modern, secure, scalable infrastructure that powers thousands of websites and helps developers to build with confidence and speed.

Reporting to the Director of Product, Platform & Developer Experience, you'll join the working area delivering the critical backbone of Pantheon's offering. Together with the edge, observability, and DevEx teams, you'll help to ensure reliability, performance, and developer productivity across the WebOps ecosystem.

What you need to Succeed

Develop Pantheon’s Platform Vision, Strategy, and Roadmap
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand their product strategies and identify how the platform can best support them
  • Define long-term platform strategies that balance technical sustainability, security, business goals, and user needs
  • Prioritize platform initiatives based on impact, feasibility, and alignment with company objectives
Build for Technical Excellence and Extensibility
  • Design platform primitives and patterns that enable internal teams to build features independently without requiring bespoke support
  • Champion standardization and reusability across the platform to improve developer productivity and reduce technical debt
  • Identify opportunities to enhance platform capabilities that unlock new product possibilities
  • Balance immediate needs with long-term platform health and evolution
Partner on Technical Solutions and System Architecture
  • Evaluate competing technical approaches with architects and engineering leads, weighing trade-offs to reach design decisions that support business goals
  • Break down complex systems into component parts and identify paths for incremental improvement
  • Advocate for architectural decisions that support business objectives while maintaining technical integrity
Translate Customer Needs into Platform Requirements
  • Provide guidance to technical teams on customer priorities to keep development focused on high-impact outcomes
  • Engage with the internal teams and customers to gather insights and feedback
  • Collaborate with User Researchers to conduct user interviews, surveys, and usability studies to understand user behaviors and preferences
  • Use feedback to iterate on product features and enhance the overall overall developer experience
Collaborate Cross-Functionally
  • Work closely with engineering, design, and marketing teams to ensure the successful execution of the product roadmap
  • Collaborate with customer support to address user issues and provide timely resolutions
  • Communicate product updates and releases to internal teams and external stakeholders

What you Bring to the Table

  • 8+ years in relevant B2B SaaS Product Management experience in an agile and highly dynamic environment
  • A data-driven approach to decision making, balanced with strong product intuition
  • Proven experience with platform or infrastructure products that serve both internal teams and external customers
  • A mindset for working incrementally, breaking down complex systems into smaller pieces, and using prototypes and experiments to quickly test hypotheses
  • Technical aptitude with ability to quickly build expertise in unfamiliar domains and contribute meaningfully to technical discussions
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to craft business cases and narratives that inspire and influence change.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams on architectural decisions and technical trade-offs that support business objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to translate user needs into technical requirements and keep engineering teams focused on customer outcomes
  • Experience with containerization, cloud platforms (preferably Google Cloud Platform), and scalable infrastructure
