About the Role
As a Fellow Architect at Arctic Wolf, you are a member of the Labs team leading advanced research and innovation for Arctic Wolf's Labs. In this role, you will work closely with Labs leadership, product management and R&D to lead research on endpoint visibility, protection and detection, memory analysis, exploit prevention, emulation, and defense evasion, among others, and to ensure the results of this work is productized to improve the efficacy of Arctic's Wolf protection, detection and response technology stack.
A Fellow Architect influences the industry in general, creating new models and technologies to advance the domain. You influence the work of Labs, R&D, and Arctic Wolf’s technology strategy and vision, and indirectly influence all Arctic Wolf. Your responsibilities include guiding and coaching other architects, staff, and mentoring senior leaders across the organization.
In your role, you apply your deep technical expertise of current industry and emerging technologies and your extensive knowledge of theories, practices and design, to provide insight and technical leadership to promote new ideas, innovative and revolutionary concepts, and solve critical problems. You consistently work with abstract ideas and assess intangible variables, identifying and evaluating fundamental issues, and providing strategy and direction for your architecture domain. You are a key influencer in product research, product innovation and growth strategies, with a deep understanding of the overall protection and detection product and Security Services functions, requiring in-depth knowledge of industry trends, business strategies and the company’s goals.
Your responsibilities include:
Working with all Labs team members, product management, and other fellow architects at R&D, to define and execute on the company's technical roadmap and strategic vision for advanced protection and detection products.
Representing and socializing our innovation to executives, vendors, stakeholders and staff throughout Arctic Wolf, and external communities.
Analyzing, vetting, and recommending, acquisitions, vendors, designs, technologies, 3rd party tools and integrations, and developing POCs and prototypes.
Providing insight and expertise into current and emerging industry trends in their area of expertise to promote new ideas, innovate concepts, and resolving critical issues.
Identifying and evaluating trade-offs between various architectural and engineering decisions to inform design choices.
Working with abstract ideas and intangible variables, identifying and evaluating fundamental issues, and providing strategy and direction.
Providing technical oversight, guidance and coaching to researchers, product management, developers and engineers.
Ensuring that our software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc.
Contributing to all levels of the research applicable to their realm of expertise.
We are an innovative team that focuses our research on R&D projects. Often, we evaluate of new software and tools, proofs-of-concepts and hands on prototyping. We investigate solutions, look at the trade-offs, and lay the groundwork and architectural strategy. The team also works closely with product managers and R&D to help us succeed together. We value a culture of sharing, so research, architecture and engineering work are peer reviewed and discussed with other researchers, architects and engineers to discuss trade-offs and communicate ideas.
About You
You’re an experienced industry leader who oversees defensive innovation research or industry-recognized advanced product development and understands that erroneous decisions will have a long-term effect on the company’s success. You are recognized in the industry for having revolutionized some aspect of software or security industry. You are an experienced mentor across multiple domains, consult with and provide guidance on advanced technical issues to leadership, and are recognized as a technical leader whose knowledge, ideas and critical thinking impact the organization. You have designed and built massively successful projects in the industry. You influence the entire organization, and it extends throughout the industry.
Proven history of technical leadership of successful projects, as well as some lessons learned from failures.
Recognized in the industry for having revolutionized some aspect of software or security industry.
Deep knowledge of current industry and emerging technologies, to compare against, and innovate upon these technologies.
Deep knowledge of Windows internals, Rootkits, memory analysis and Windows Kernel.
Some experience in software development with Golang, Python, Java or a similar high-level language.
Mastery of technical details, best practices, and design patterns across multiple domains.
Proven history of making and defending, effective decisions using data and research, and accepting feedback.
Proven history of explaining technical concepts using audience-specific language for audiences with different technical skill levels.
