Job Summary:

The Application Engineer will serve as the primary technical consultant responsible for actively driving and managing the technical evaluation and application of the HyperWorks suite of products with Altair’s customers and prospects.

What You Will Do:

• Work closely with account management to increase usage at Aerospace and Defense accounts. Identify and prioritize strategic long- and short-term activities to support account growth.
• Analyze technical needs, requirements, and current workflows of customers.
• Develop relationships and work with customers to qualify opportunities and propose solutions meeting the customer requirements.
• Be viewed by the customer as their primary point of contact for all technical activities including presales, technical support, consulting, and training.
• Coordinate pre- and post-sales support for Altair products, including evaluation, benchmarking, proof of concepts, and training.
• Work with development teams to ensure customer needs are met and help prioritize and establish business needs for additional functionality.
• Propose Altair’s Support Services and Consulting Services to customers who need assistance to resolve challenging problems and build solutions of demanding complexity.
• Interface with and provide assistance to Altair’s customer support organization with their efforts to assist customers with resolving customer support issues.

What You Will Need:

Basics:

• U.S. person required due to Government Contracts.
• Bachelor degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related required. Master’s degree is a plus.
• Knowledge and strong interest of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• 1-3 years of hands on FEA experience preferred.
• Good communication skills (Oral and Written).
• Energetic.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with all levels of technical users and management.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Aptitude for solving engineering problems.
• Willingness to travel throughout region as required
