Job description

We are seeking a skilled Integration & Support Engineer to join our team, specializing in the installation, troubleshooting, and development of advanced Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) for helicopters. This role involves working with cutting-edge vibration monitoring technologies to ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of rotorcraft systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, hands-on technical expertise, and a passion for aerospace innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Installation & Integration: Install, configure, and integrate HUMS hardware and software into helicopter platforms, ensuring seamless compatibility with existing avionics and mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to vibration monitoring systems, including sensors, data acquisition units, and software interfaces, to minimize downtime and maintain operational readiness.
  • System Development: Collaborate with engineering teams to design, test, and enhance advanced HUMS technologies, focusing on vibration analysis, predictive maintenance, and health diagnostics.
  • Field Support: Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers, including helicopter operators and maintenance crews, to address system performance concerns and optimize usage.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze vibration and usage data collected by HUMS to identify trends, predict component wear, and recommend maintenance actions to improve safety and efficiency.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including installation guides, troubleshooting manuals, and system performance reports.
  • Testing & Validation: Conduct system testing and validation to ensure HUMS meets regulatory standards (e.g., FAA, EASA) and customer specifications under various operating conditions.
  • Training: Train end-users, such as maintenance personnel and pilots, on the operation and interpretation of HUMS data and diagnostics.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, mechanical engineers, and quality assurance, to drive continuous improvement in HUMS solutions.

Qualifications/Experience Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in vibration analysis or avionics are a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in aerospace engineering, with a focus on helicopter systems, avionics, or vibration monitoring technologies.
    • Proven hands-on experience in installing, troubleshooting, and supporting complex technical systems, preferably in an aviation or rotorcraft environment.
    • Experience with Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) or similar diagnostic technologies is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of vibration analysis, sensor technologies, and data acquisition systems.
    • Familiarity with helicopter mechanical systems (e.g., rotors, gearboxes, engines) and their failure modes.
    • Proficiency in programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for data analysis or system customization is an advantage.
    • Experience with avionics interfaces (e.g., ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553) and software tools for diagnostics.
  • Certifications: Certification in vibration analysis (e.g., ISO 18436-2) or aviation maintenance (e.g., FAA A&P license) is a plus but not required.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems under time-sensitive conditions and provide effective solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with technical teams, customers, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of aerospace regulatory requirements (e.g., FAA, EASA) and their application to HUMS and helicopter operations.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work in field environments, including aircraft hangars or remote locations, and occasionally lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Teamwork: Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team while also working independently as needed.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel (up to 25%) for on-site installations, customer support, or testing, including potential international assignments.
  • Security Clearance: Eligibility for security clearance may be required depending on project demands.

We offer medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, health savings accounts, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan with a Company match.
