Salary (UK): £29,291 plus benefits (Our pay philosophy ensures consistency across locations and salaries. The starting salary for this opportunity plus benefits depends on location of the candidate). 

The role:

Mary’s Meals International is recruiting for an enthusiastic Procurement Officer to join our growing Procurement Team. Reporting to our Head of Procurement, you will play a critical role in assisting the Procurement Manager with end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance across our operations. You will bring your procurement and commercial expertise to support the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective procurement solutions that align with our core values. Your dedication to quality, stewardship, and ethical procurement practices will be essential in enabling us to reach more hungry children.

Your impact:

  • Efficiently procure goods, services, and works while adhering to the Procurement Manual.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to coordinate tenders and meet key deadlines.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of procurement reports to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Develop and draft procurement documentation, including tender documents and contracts.
  • Support the roll-out and coordination of annual procurement plans.
  • Manage a list of prequalified suppliers and support the pre-qualification process.
  • Analyse procurement data and provide insights on supplier performance.
  • Assist with contract negotiations and maintain up-to-date procurement records.
  • Foster strong communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across teams and in-country procurement teams to strengthen procurement controls and ensure data quality.

 About you:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years practical experience, or equivalent, in procurement principles and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong cultural sensitivity and the ability to work in diverse contexts.
  • Relevant degree qualification or equivalent experience. CIPS qualification or steps toward certification would be beneficial.
