We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Accounting Manager to join our North America finance team. This role is responsible for leading accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, Danaher accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and delivering insightful financial analysis to drive business decisions. The Senior Manager will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, experience in a public company environment, and proficiency with Oracle ERP systems.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Manage the overall general ledger (GL) accounting function, including reviewing and approving journal entries, account reconciliations, and ensuring the accurate and timely completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, Danaher accounting policies, and SOX requirements. Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing required documentation and addressing inquiries related to GL accounting.

• Partner with the Senior Manager, Global Revenue, to manage North America revenue accounting operations. Review and approve customer credit limits, customer orders, and revenue contracts to ensure adherence to ASC 606 and Danaher accounting policies. Support the month-end and quarter-end revenue close process, including preparing or approving journal entries, margin analysis, balance sheet account reconciliations, flux analysis, and corporate reporting schedules.

• Oversee and mentor junior GL accountants, driving performance, developing skills, ensuring adherence to accounting best practices, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.

• Support continuous process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance within the accounting function.

​The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 9+ years experience OR Master's degree in field with 7+ years experience OR Doctoral degree in field with 4+ years experience and hold a CPA or equalivant certification.

• Accounting experience, with a public accounting firm or an operational accounting role within a publicly traded company.

• Strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls.

• Advanced knowledge of Oracle ERP systems, reporting tools, and strong proficiency with Excel.

• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage a team effectively. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Public accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 firm.

• Experience with financial systems implementation or process automation.

• Experience in the life sciences industry, particularly with companies that have manufacturing operations.

The salary range for this role is $94,000-$160,000 CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
