Job description

Job Title: Product Manager
Location: Minnesota or Georgia, or East Coast (ET) / Mid-West (CT) remote
Salary: $115,000-$125,000 p.a. full-time equivalent, dependent on experience
Basis: Permanent; full-time, part-time or flexible
Eligibility: You must be eligible to work in the United States

The role

We are looking for a skilled Product Manager to drive the development of innovative products that have a lasting, measurable impact on young people and educators worldwide. You will work closely with engineers, designers, and learning experts to create meaningful digital experiences that enable the next generation to realise their full potential through the power of computing and digital technologies.

This role is based in the U.S., with a strong preference for candidates in Minnesota or Georgia, where we are building teams, or alternatively on the East Coast or in the Midwest to align with the team's time zones.

As the owner of the product roadmap, you will ensure that features are prioritised and developed based on user needs, feedback, and business goals. Working within a cross-functional, agile team, you’ll contribute to turning ideas into impactful products, guiding each stage of development from concept to launch.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex challenges with a user-first mindset, and is excited about making a tangible difference through digital products used by millions of learners around the world.

We strive to make the Foundation a place where talented people who care about our mission can do the best work of their careers. We have a flexible and collaborative approach to all aspects of our work. If you’re the right person for the job, we’ll make it work for you, and you can be confident that you’ll be working with an exceptional team.

Responsibilities

  • Translate data, user research, and business goals into actionable insights, proposing features that deliver value to users and align with organisational objectives.
  • Define clear success criteria for products and features, guiding them through analysis, design, delivery, and measuring outcomes against business goals.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineers, Product Designers, Learning Managers and Marketing Managers in an agile environment to develop and refine products and features.
  • Foster strong, effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the Foundation, including teams in both the U.S. and U.K., ensuring alignment with business needs and product priorities.
  • Manage and own the product roadmap, prioritising work to balance user needs, business goals, and key objectives and results.
  • Partner with UX Researchers to conduct user research that deepens understanding of user behaviours and needs, driving improvements in product offerings.
  • Lead discussions within cross-functional teams to address challenges, encourage collaboration, and support continuous improvement.
  • Monitor product performance and user feedback to identify opportunities for iterative development and enhancement.
  • Maintain transparent communication across teams, ensuring alignment on progress, priorities, and potential roadblocks.

Experience and personal attributes

We recognise that everyone has the potential for growth, and we welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate that they have some, but not all, of the experience and personal attributes listed here.

  • Proven experience in product management within agile teams, with a track record of delivering digital products.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively to different audiences.
  • Commitment to collaborate with colleagues in both the U.S. and the U.K.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects forward collaboratively, working with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
  • A solid understanding of agile methodologies, including the ability to run and participate in sprint ceremonies like planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A results-driven approach, including defining KPIs and measuring product performance against business goals.
  • Empathy, a pragmatic attitude, and the ability to see the bigger picture while remaining focused on user needs.
  • Experience building consensus and gaining buy-in for ideas across diverse global teams and stakeholders.
  • An interest in education, especially around digital making and computing, or a desire to learn more in this space.

About us

Established in 2008 and first known for our product — the wildly successful Raspberry Pi computer — the Foundation has developed education programmes, learning experiences, and products that are helping millions of young people learn vital new knowledge and skills.

Through Code Club, we support the world’s largest network of free informal computing clubs for young people. Tens of thousands of educators have taken our online courses, and millions of people use our free online learning resources. To deepen our understanding of how young people learn about computing and how to create with digital technologies, we conduct academic research, and we use that knowledge to increase the impact of our work and advance the field of computing education.

Across all of our work, we work hard to engage young people who come from backgrounds that are traditionally underrepresented in the field of computing or who experience educational disadvantage. We work all over the world, with teams based in the UK, Ireland, North America, and India, and partnerships with mission-aligned organisations in over 40 countries. You can learn more about us on our careers page.

We are at the forefront of the global movement to help young people learn about computing and digital making. You can read more about our mission, values, and goals in our Annual Review 2023 and our Strategy 2022–2025.

Benefits

In addition to competitive salaries, we offer a range of benefits for all of our colleagues, including:

  • 15 days annual leave plus public holidays (prorated for part-time employees)
  • Option of buying up to 2 working weeks extra annual leave per year
  • Company-wide close down for 3 days at the end of the year
  • Paid sabbatical leave (after 7 years of service)
  • Retirement savings plan (401(k))
  • Workers’ compensation cover
  • Group term life and AD&D insurance
  • Medical cover (including dental and vision)
  • Family leave policies

Phone screen: week commencing 21 April 2025

Further background checks will be made at regular intervals thereafter.
