As the Regional Director, Retail Operations, you will be a key leader in driving growth, optimizing performance, and strengthening the connection between Home Hardware’s headquarters and our regional operations. Your leadership will ensure that Home’s vision and strategic objectives are successfully executed at the local level, directly impacting the operational and financial success of the region you oversee. Leading a high-performing team, you will champion regional performance and foster strong partnerships within our independent retail Dealer environment. Your success in this role will be measured by Dealer sales growth, profitability, market expansion, and increased Dealer engagement and loyalty toward corporate initiatives, programs, and products.

Ready to make an impact in a new role? Here’s how:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to expand Home Hardware’s presence and customer base within a multi-million-dollar region. This includes identifying growth opportunities and market trends required to grow comparable shipment sales and overall growth which may include collaboration with Dealer Development on banner conversions, Greenfields and store expansions.
- Oversee daily operations, including budgeting, forecasting, performance metrics, and the store application process (ARC). Ensuring that all company policies, procedures and Dealer conditions are implemented. Track and evaluate the performance of the region against set goals and KPIs. Use data and feedback to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership and direction to Regional Teams ensuring they are motivated and performing to their full potential. This includes recruiting, training, developing and succession planning to meet company standards and performance objectives.
- Act as a liaison between the regional operations and Dealer Support Center, ensuring clear communication regarding financial performance, Dealer satisfaction, and team productivity, proactively collaborating to reach the region objectives.
- Resolve Dealer complaints and concerns professionally and in a timely manner. Establish strong relationships with key industry stakeholders and Dealers inspiring retail best practices and retail excellence. This includes travelling 40% of the time.
- Continuously monitor and manage operational costs and performance within the region to ensure profitability and efficiency.
- Ensure that all regional operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies. This includes managing risks and implementing measures to mitigate them.
We’re looking for:
- Ten years’ experience in retail business operations and management, with five plus years in a leadership capacity.
- Experience within the Home Improvement industry (Hardware & Lumber Building Materials) is preferred.
- The ability to guide, influence, and inspire teams across different locations is crucial. Effective leadership drives the direction and success of the organization.
- Experience in developing and implementing strategies that align with organizational goals is essential. This involves forward-thinking and innovation.
- Understanding financial reports, budgeting, and financial planning helps in making informed decisions that impact the region's profitability.
- Analyzing market trends and data to make strategic decisions and stay competitive.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills to create strong partnerships.
- Fostering a positive and productive work environment by building strong, cohesive teams.
- Managing multiple projects efficiently, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Skilled negotiation helps in securing deals and partnerships beneficial to the organization.
- The ability to adapt to changes and lead through them is crucial for maintaining stability and growth.
- The ability to identifying issues and developing effective solutions to overcome challenges.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office such as Power Point, Excel, Teams and Word. (CRM knowledge a plus).
- Ability to create, facilitate and present meetings in large group settings which may include facilitation of on-going productive Dealer meetings inspiring innovation, collaboration and sharing best practices.
- The ability to accommodate a fully remote role that requires extensive travel throughout Atlantic Canada.
