SR. UX PRODUCT DESIGNER

INCATech is looking for a highly motivated Sr. UX Product Designer to support a website modernization project for the federal government. The Sr. UX Product Designer will be mentoring other UX designers by sharing expertise, experience, helpful feedback, and a passion for learning and exploring. They should also guide cross-functional teams through the design thinking process.

POSITION IS REMOTE OR HYBRID, WITH PREFERENCE GIVEN TO CANIDATES IN THE GREATER WASHINGTON, D.C. METRO AREA

Responsibilities

Engage with stakeholders and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to design holistic solutions that address business, brand, technical, and user requirements.
Formulate research plans and conduct user research studies; analyze results; report and present findings and recommendations.
Create journey maps, workflows, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, graphical assets, content, style guides, pattern libraries, and other artifacts as necessary to capture and communicate designs.
Clearly define and translate design concepts for development and testing purposes to ensure streamlined implementation of high-quality products.
stablish and maintain a vision of the overall user experience across all user-facing components (i.e., information architecture, visual design assets, user interface, interactive multimedia, etc.).
Coordinate and facilitate design meetings and presentations with clients and stakeholders.
Effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and work within deadlines with minimal supervision.

Related Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a SECRET security clearance. Interim SECRET clearance is required to start the position but INCATech will sponsor the candidate if they do not currently have an active clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Interactive Design, Information Design, computer science, or a related field. 
5+ years of specialized experience in a cross-functional development and production environment.
Design experience with Adobe XD, Sketch, or Figma and prototyping tools like Balsamiq, Axure, Flinto, or InVision.
Strong understanding of graphic design theory, web standards, accessibility (508 compliance), responsive design, and UCD best practices. 
Familiarity with Agile and Lean software development approaches.
Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills. Clearly convey ideas, design rationale, and specifications appropriately to various audiences whether other technical peers or non-technical project managers and/or customers. Ability to persuasively build buy-in and common understanding.
Positive attitude and passion for learning. Desire to support team members’ growth and share knowledge, experiences, and advice.
Portfolio, website, or other samples of work.

Preferred

8+ years of specialized experience in a development and production environment supporting U.S. Government customers, consultation, or agency work.
Experience in Enterprise Design or Complex Applications.
Strong experience with user-centered design embedded in Agile software development.
