Database Solutions Engineer
This position requires an active
Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain a
Public Trust clearance to be considered.
The Database Solutions Engineer ensures high performance and reliability and supports efforts to modernize complex database systems. The ideal candidate excels at crafting efficient SQL solutions and enjoys solving challenging real-world database problems. The position involves optimizing, troubleshooting, and reverse-engineering SQL statements, supporting backend QA testing, and assisting with requirements development to improve business processes.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for
Database Solutions Engineer: $103,000 to 118,000
Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Database Solutions Engineer Responsibilities Include:
- Write, optimize, troubleshoot, and reverse-engineer complex SQL statements to support legacy systems and modernization efforts.
- Analyze and streamline SQL flows, proposing enhancements to maintain functionality while improving performance.
- Conduct backend QA by designing and executing SQL-driven test plans, including automated validation processes.
- Investigate and resolve issues, collaborating with the development and QA teams to ensure timely and accurate solutions.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of automated testing strategies.
- Collaborate with business analysts and client representatives to clarify requirements and align solutions with business needs.
- Create and execute test cases and automation scripts to validate new functionality.
- Identify and implement improvements to workflows and processes to drive team efficiency.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Database Solutions Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency in writing, optimizing, troubleshooting, and reverse-engineering complex SQL implementations.
- 6 – 8 years of demonstrated experience maintaining and modernizing database systems.
- Proven expertise in backend QA methodologies, including creating and automating test plans.
- Experience in collaborating with analysts and stakeholders to clarify requirements and support process improvements.
- Skilled in tools such as Microsoft SQL Management Studio, Atlassian Suite (Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket), SmartBear QAComplete, Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge of SmartBear Suite (TestComplete, LoadNinja, BitBar), Remote Desktop Connection Manager, and other related tools is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and critical thinking ability.
- Working independently and collaboratively in a highly communicative, team-oriented environment.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
