Job description

Micromeritics is hiring a Field Service Engineer (FSE) to support our customers and sales team within their assigned regions: Bavaria and Austria. The Field Service Engineer focuses on the service, support, and installation of Micromeritics products for our customers.


The FSE interfaces with all sales, support, and service group members within the German and EU teams. In addition, the FSE will work together with our US Global Service Team located in Atlanta, GA, USA.

The Field Service Engineer will:

  • Perform all service activities of company instruments following internal guidelines, established procedures and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and support by phone and email.
  • Provide on-site installation, service, and repair of company products with the aim of exceeding the customer’s expectation and ensuring customers are able to successfully use Micromeritics technology and instrumentation.
  • Actively promotion Micromeritics company’s products and services.
  • Ensure professional relationship with our customer base to achieve customer loyalty and escalate issues as necessary to solve critical problems in the most expedient way possible.
  • Follow the company’s guidance regarding ethical business.
  • Responsible for the management and maintenance of the company’s assets provided, such as vehicle, parts stock & inventory, computer, telephone, general tools, software and manuals etc.
  • Organise and plan own work schedule by coordinating with all necessary partners such as administration, sales and senior management.
  • Ensure prompt submission of field service reports, expense reports, etc.
  • Ensure alignment of all activities at the customer site with the rest of Micromeritics and report important information with respect to our customers (e.g. information about proposed new purchases to sales and general business intelligence


Education and Experience

  • Background and education in electro-mechanical technology, electronics, chemistry, or engineering.
  • Fluent in German language (B2/C Level)
  • Drivers license level B
  • German Work Permit
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience servicing analytical equipment or similar applications experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, ability to work across all levels, groups, and regions
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks with differing priorities
  • Engineers with a proactive attitude do well in this position.
  • Proficient in English language skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Acceptance to travel occasional outside of Germany for training and occasional on-site customer support within Europe or the United States.
