The Role At High Level
We’re looking for a talented Payroll Compliance Lead who doesn’t shy away from tackling complex compliance challenges in the payroll and HR technology space. You will lead the charge in ensuring that Wagepoint’s payroll software stays compliant with all relevant federal and provincial regulations. You’ll report directly to our VP of Product and collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Customer Support teams to keep compliance top of mind across the organization.
What You'll Be Expected To Own
Ensuring Regulatory Compliance in Product Features: You’ll be responsible for ensuring that all product features comply with current federal and provincial payroll regulations. This includes owning the compliance process from end to end, from regulatory research to implementation support.
Leading Compliance-Focused Product Development Initiatives: You will initiate and lead projects that ensure our payroll software not only meets but stays ahead of industry compliance standards. This means working closely with cross-functional teams to embed compliance into product development.
Collaborating on User Communication for Compliance Updates: Communication is key! You’ll ensure that our users are always well-informed of compliance-related changes by developing user-friendly communication strategies and updating user guides.
Maintaining Tax Engine Updates: You’ll make sure our Canadian tax engine remains up-to-date with the latest regulatory guides, working closely with Development and QA teams to implement these changes effectively.
Auditing and Automating Payroll Calculations: You’ll regularly audit seed data and automate payroll calculations in the tax engine to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Managing Payroll Documentation: Documentation is your secret weapon. You’ll create comprehensive payroll documentation and guidelines for both common and edge use cases and work closely with the engineering team to translate these requirements into automated tests
You have experience in a B2B SaaS environment (ideally Humi, Intuit, Wave, ADP, Ceridian etc.)
Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and tax regulations.
You’ve worked with cross-functional product and engineering teams to develop features in software apps..
Proficiency in writing product requirements in a format like Gherkin to enable test creation
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
You’re passionate about automation and efficiency improvements.
