ABOUT THE JOB - AREA SALES MANAGER - PUMPS - COVERING SOUTH AMERICA
Location: Houston Based - but will work remotely from home office, reporting to office as needed
Work Environment: Monday – Friday
Work Schedule/Hours: Normal Business Hours
Base Pay: 120k+ - Based on experience
Job Summary
Outside technical pump sales position with primary responsibility to generate inquiries and close orders to meet the sales quota in the assigned territory. This will be accomplished by calling directly on agents and end user customers within the territory and expanding the current customer base. Other actions will include reviewing customer specifications, assisting with quotation strategy, negotiating orders, and post order follow-up. This position will primarily be responsible for Pumps OE and Pumps AM within South America including Latin America. Additional account responsibility within the US is possible. This individual will work closely with the Clyde Union application engineers, Business Unit personnel, and the manufacturing facilities in order to provide a high level of service to meet the customer’s needs and expectations.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate new equipment and aftermarket pump inquiries in order to support the assigned quota for the territory.
- Establish, expand, and maintain existing customer contacts within the assigned territory.
- Develop a complete territory sales coverage plan for the year.
- Travel within the Americas as required for relationship development and project advancement.
- Make regular face-to-face contact with agents and end user customers.
- Review customer inquiries and specifications for developing a quotation strategy with the inside sales support teams.
- Maintain all jobs in the quote log with regular updates on forecasting.
- Customer presentations (i.e.: “Lunch & Learns”)
- Travel within the Americas as required.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret customer specifications.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills; both verbal and written.
- Good PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and computer system adaptability.
- Self-motivated and the ability to excel with minimum supervision.
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
- Effective communicator, able to tailor approach to audience.
- High levels of resilience and a desire to see the customers’ needs met.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Industrial Technology, Industrial Distribution, or other technical degree) with technical experience is preferred.
- 5 years of outside sales experience in commercial pumps and related aftermarket services.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
