Job description

Ilir Sela started Slice with the belief that local pizzerias deserve all of the advantages of major franchises without compromising their independence. Starting with his family’s pizzerias, we now empower over tens of thousands of restaurants with the technology, services, and collective power that owners need to better serve their digitally minded customers and build lasting businesses. We’re growing and adding more talent to help fulfil this valuable mission. That’s where you come in.

The Challenge to Solve

Slice’s vision is being realised as we transform small businesses in the independent pizzeria market. Combined, this sector is bigger than any major chain. From point-of-sale to mobile apps, web, touchscreen, and more, Slice provides full business solutions for small business owners - and good design is central to our success.

The Role

The tech world is full of ‘solved problems’ where design is almost interchangeable between sectors and products. At Slice we have brand new problems to solve with exceptional experiences. We need talented design thinkers to bring innovative new ideas to life, while setting the highest standard for design execution. With a relentless focus on solving hard problems, you will help to create products that are not just stunning to look at, intuitive in use, and game-changing for our customers. Develop your design skills and thrive within a talented team, while mentoring others in the process.

We welcome candidates of all experience levels. Since job titles vary across companies, we will assess your appropriate level at Slice during the interview process and make sure we have a role to match your particular skills & experience.

The Team

Our Product Design team is small, but growing. With a renewed focus on business users, we are building a team to create products that deliver real impact for our customers’ operations.

The Winning Recipe

  • Understand the customer’s biggest problems and pain points, and solve for them accordingly
  • Bring a mature understanding of design principles and processes, including how to adapt pragmatically to constraints or competing priorities
  • Leverage prototyping and testing on the way to selecting the optimum solution
  • Connect design outcomes to business goals and various data points
  • Frame problems in a way that opens the door to diverse, effective solutions
  • Be proactive in identifying and proposing innovative ideas
  • Practice inclusive design
  • Value collaboration and leveraging diverse perspectives

The experience and skills you’ll bring to Slice:

  • Demonstrable experience creating elegant, impactful design for B2B or B2C products
  • Ability to take design from inception to completion and implementation
  • Working knowledge of forming  actionable insights from disparate data sources, knowing the difference between data-informed, and data-driven
  • Excellent communication, with narrative skills that promote design conversations across teams and functions
  • The ability to render your design solutions in high-fidelity, preferably using Figma
  • Skilled in design system contribution and evolution
