Job Summary:
As a Release Triage Engineer, you will be responsible for driving on-time, high-quality releases across a large number of devices. Responsible for complete release quality and triage lifecycle which includes deployment, triage, mitigation, and tool development for software release operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Fix, diagnose, and resolve problems using Linux systems and networking protocols, including packet capture analysis.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in broadband devices, covering various components like connectivity (Wi-Fi, Ethernet), network protocols, security (WPA) etc.
- Deep-dive analysis of RDK middleware issues, including source code review, to identify root causes in the middleware and platform.
- Resolve issues related to entertainment devices in various components including Media player, Audio/Video streaming protocols, Web browser, HDMI, Bluetooth, WiFi/Ethernet.
- Develop anomaly detection techniques and data-driven solutions to identify and address system issues. Apply AWS technologies (S3, Athena, Quick Sight) for data management and visualization.
- Architect and implement DevOps solutions for operational improvement.
- Ensuring timely and high-quality software releases across various devices using proactive monitoring of metrics and alerting.
- Design and enhance operational tools to improve system performance.
- Analyze data from millions of field devices to provide insights and support decision-making.
- Compare the metrics globally across various device models.
- Respond immediately to critical field issues, determine their triggers, and mitigate them.
- Lead teams, mentor colleagues, and communicate technical insights effectively to collaborators
Required Skills:
- Over 5 years of hands-on experience with C/C++ programming and Linux environments.
- Proficient in defect tracking and project management tools, including Jira.
- Experienced in source control management (SCM) using Git and GitHub.
- 2+ years of experience leading and mentoring small teams of engineers.
- 3+ years of expertise in log management and analysis with tools like Elastic Stack (ELK), Splunk, and Grafana for efficient data visualization and system monitoring.
- Proficient in at least one scripting language such as BASH, Go, or Python.
Desired Skills:
- Embedded Systems experience
- Experience AWS, Azure or other cloud infrastructure
- Experience with monitoring systems (i.e. Datadog, CloudWatch, etc.)
- Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment processes and tools such as Jenkins, Concourse etc.
- Knowledge and experience in Set-top boxes, Broadband Gateways, Networking or Home Security domain is plus.
- Knowledge of RDK, C/C++, Linux, Defect Management, embedded systems, log management and analysis tools such as Elastic Stack (ELK), Splunk, and Grafana
