Position Description 

SonicWall is seeking a talented full-stack website developer to join an established team during an exciting time of growth and innovation. Candidates should have a passion for coding and demonstrated experience creating highly polished websites. General responsibilities will include working closely with internal stakeholders to address the ongoing needs of the existing corporate website and opportunities for entirely new site builds.  

 
Responsibilities: 

  • Build code for efficient, optimized, and mobile-friendly websites using a variety of software and languages 
  • Edit content, debug cod,e and re-design web pages
  • Design and implement new features and functionality
  • Ensure high performance and availability, managing all technical aspects of the CMS
  • Improve and iterate on existing features through A/B testing, user or team feedback
  • Keep up to date with best practices in developing and designing for the web, web usability, web design and industry trends
  • Plan and architect software design features
  • Programming the front end and back of the corporate website
  • Merge & deploy code using Git
  • Work with other groups to gather requirements and understand the business case and workflow.
  • Work closely with other engineers and the Marketing team to deliver a high-quality corporate website
  • Provide "hands-on" support for the customers when needed to solve production issues
  • Bring solutions to the leadership team, feedback on solutions recommended

 

 Required Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field 
  • Ideal candidate with 6 to 10 years of overall experience in website design and development
  • Proficient in React or Next.js frameworks 
  • Proficiency with front-end technologies including TypeScript, CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5
  • Experience with Git, Storybook, Figma
  • Experience converting design mockups to compliant HTML / CSS
  • Knowledge of CSS preprocessors & bundlers (SASS/SCSS)
  • Ability to write complex and efficient SQL queries
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL), web servers (e.g. Apache, NGINX), and cloud computing platforms (AWS – specifically EC2, RDS, Cloudfront & S3)
  • Strong understanding of web security
  • Experience with web development and debugging tools  
  • Strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards 
  • Strong cross-group communication and negotiation skills 
  • Experience with managing multilingual websites is desired 
  • Experience in working with agile processes, tools and teams is desired 
  • Familiarity with REST API 

Desirable Experience:

  • Headless frameworks such as ContentStack 
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Google Tag Manager
  • Design/UX experience a plus
