Job description

We are seeking a Senior Real Estate Financial Analyst to join our national platform for institutional retail. This position will be key in handling assignments ranging from individual asset sales to large portfolio transactions, with responsibilities extending beyond the financial aspects to encompass all phases of the sales process. The ideal candidate will need excellent organizational and management skills, experience in transaction management, a solid understanding of financial and valuation concepts, proficiency with Argus Enterprise, and a strong work ethic with a leadership mindset.

This corporate-level role will work with a Lead Managing Analyst and team of analysts to provide complex underwriting and analysis.
 

Responsibilities
  • Build, edit, and manipulate complex financial cash flow models using Argus Enterprise & Microsoft Excel
  • Transaction management through proposal and listing cycle
  • Analyze, review, and interpret real estate source documents, including operating statements, rent rolls, budgets, loan documents, reconciliations, leases, and other due diligence materials
  • Research market conditions in support of financial underwriting assumptions
  • Compile and present the results of analyses and effectively address questions as needed
  • Identify critical property-level financial issues and make recommendations for improvement
  • Develop disposition strategies in conjunction with team members and clients
  • Assist in the production of property offering memorandums and broker’s opinions of value which will be used to actively market retail assets to the marketplace
  • Work with Market Research team members to perform location, market, property, retail tenant and economic research to be used in property marketing materials
  • Coordinate collection of due diligence material
  • Lead and collaborate with fellow analysts to efficiently manage property underwritings, reviewing and approving them in a senior capacity before they are submitted to Senior Agents
  • Work successfully within a high-volume environment supporting institutional level agents
  • Communicate directly with capital markets professionals, asset managers, leasing brokers, property managers and clients

  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with high academic achievement in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred but not required
  • Must have routine working knowledge using Argus Enterprise to underwrite shopping centers and other retail assets
  • 3+ years' experience in a commercial real estate position with intensive Argus Enterprise use, whether in brokerage, appraisal, or for an ownership group, preferably focused on retail shopping centers or other retail assets
  • Proven experience in abstracting lease agreements and understanding other lease documents
  • Proven experience and proficiency in building complex retail cash flow models
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Intellectual curiosity with a demonstrated enthusiasm for the commercial real estate industry
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills in combination with outstanding communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work successfully with “Type A” personalities and effectively within a team and with all levels of personnel
