About the team
The Developer Experience (DevEx) Delivery Team is responsible for the design, development, and operation of the systems and tools that enable Zillow Group engineers to efficiently write and deploy software! We lead and evolve CI/CD systems, in-house Enterprise Service Catalog, Infrastructure Archetypes, Code repository, and package repositories, ensuring that developers have the best tools and frameworks to streamline software delivery.

Our team implements standard methodologies for CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure patterns, and version control. We collaborate closely with engineering teams, product leaders, and executive collaborators to define and implement modern solutions that improve development speed and software quality across the company!

About the role

As the Senior Engineering Manager of Delivery, you will be responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and evolution of key platforms that support software development and deployment at scale. You will ensure the availability and performance of critical platforms that enable teams to build, package, and deploy applications efficiently and securely.

As a Senior Engineering Manager of Delivery, you will:

  • Lead and manage the Delivery Team, ensuring alignment with company-wide engineering goals.

  • Develop and implement a scalable platform strategy that aligns with business objectives, ensuring modularity, reusability, and long-term sustainability across engineering teams while driving innovation and efficiency.

  • Mentor and develop engineers, encouraging a culture of learning and innovation.

  • Evolve Delivery platforms, enabling faster iteration cycles and higher software quality.

  • Work with engineering leadership and key collaborators to establish and encourage effective methods for CI/CD, artifact management, infrastructure patterns, service catalog, and developer facing AI initiatives.

  • Enhance automation and standardization across CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure patterns.

  • Ensure security and compliance best practices are integrated into the software development lifecycle.

  • Oversee the maintenance and reliability of all platforms, proactively addressing issues and optimizing developer experience.

  • Work closely with senior leadership to align infrastructure initiatives with business objectives.

  • Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies, ensuring continuous improvement in developer experience.

  • Manage vendor relationships and assess third-party tooling to complement or enhance existing systems.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $201,700.00 - $322,300.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a management role.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams.

  • Strong expertise in CI/CD systems and software delivery pipelines.

  • Hands-on experience with build systems and artifact management in large-scale engineering environments.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and managing cloud-based infrastructure services.

  • Deep understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and experience with tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.

  • A track record of driving infrastructure modernization initiatives while maintaining system stability and reliability.
