Department Overview:
The Research Data Analyst 2 will serve as a member of the Department of Family Medicine Qualitative Methods Core conducting research and project management activities for federal and state funded studies related to health policy, health services research, and practice improvements in primary care. This position will primarily work on research that studies Medicaid policy. Responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to, scheduling and conducting interviews and ethnographic observation; organizing and analyzing qualitative data; conducting project management and study support tasks, working with the Institutional Review Board (IRB), and other activities necessary for supporting a qualitative research team. The Research Data Analyst 2 will assist in dissemination activities (e.g., conducting literature searches and reviews, managing references and citations, preparing tables, data summaries, abstracts, sections of manuscripts, posters, and presentations, and attending national conferences) with opportunities for co-authorship. This position is a critical member of a nationally-recognized team led by Dr. Deborah Cohen and will work closely with collaborators and investigators from other departments and organizations.
Function/Duties of Position:Master’s degree with major coursework in related field AND two (2) years of relevant professional experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in related field AND 4 years of relevant professional experience
At least two (2) years working with large multi-faceted research teams;
At two (2) years of experience in qualitative data collection as part of clinical research;
At two (2) years of experience contributing to scholarly dissemination.
This team member must have at least three (3) years of knowledge and experience conducting rigorous qualitative data collection and analysis.
Experience that demonstrates the ability to meet stringent deadlines, undertake multiple priorities concurrently and self-prioritize in a dynamic environment.
Experience that demonstrates at least two years of advanced computer knowledge and skills using MS Office (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and OneDrive)
Skilled in writing concise, logical, and grammatically correct correspondence, reports, and other written materials
Excellent ability to speak on a one-on-one or group basis to obtain and clearly convey information. Ability to present study recruitment, methods, and results in multiple settings. Ability to conduct rigorous qualitative interviews.
Master’s degree in Anthropology, Sociology, Public Health, Communication or similar field preferred.
Master’s degree with three (3) years of relevant experience preferred.
More than three (3) years’ experience in clinical research especially in community settings.
At least one (1) year of experience as part of a research team utilizing mixed methods, Medicaid policy, and behavioral health research.
Experience that demonstrates the ability to exercise judgment in taking independent action, seeking guidance as needed;

Experience that demonstrates at least two (2) years of proficiency with both Endnote and Atlas.ti.
